There was a post earlier about us not being ready for the CL. I agree, not with this squad. However, Man United just got a draw in Madrid tonight and their squad is a bit of a mess too.
It's also about not having a strong enough squad to play 3 important games in a week on a regular basis. We couldn't even cope with the conference league at the moment

I thought our movement of the ball this evening was dull, negative and cowardly, We moved the ball up to halfway and then turn it back to the defence to recycle again.

I get the impression that some of the risk taking has been taken away from the players leading to fear of trying progressive balls.

They were looking for gaps, they were trying to move Burnley out of position and find an area to play through.

Burnley were extremely solid. The problem is they were happy to let us go out wide because our full backs are woeful. I think Reggy and Doherty would have given us a bit more of a chance out there. The full backs are more threatening then it worries them and drags them out the middle

If Bentancur was in there in the second half I think he could have done something with more of the ball further forward, unfortunately he wasnt

The so called lesser teams are raising so much of a performance against us now and playing the best of their lives is almost like a redeeming factor of their whole career from every single one of the clubs. Yet, some of our players are never motivated to raise their levels in such games. Piss off.
I don't think it's too much about them raising their game, although, of course, it plays a part for sure. The underlying reason we can go from beating City one week and creating much better chances too, to losing the bottom team, as well as the likes of Southampton and Wolves either side of the City game is to do with tactics, or the system. Against City we didn't press the ball and retained our shape & used our ability to counter them when we had the chance. That system is perfect for City. For the likes of the other three mentioned, We essentially set up just like the City game, except the difference is we didn't sit as deep and try and counter.

Our inability to break down teams like this is down to not being aggressive enough in the press, not pushing up, and closing down space. Whose fault is it? I don't know, you could and should look at the quality of players and see it there, or lack off. You could look at the board and ask why on earth, after one of the most successful times for us in modern football do you go and hire Mourinho, Nuno & Conte!? 3 defense-first managers, who don't share the same tactical philosophy as Poch. Tbh it's all fucked up at the club and ultimately that's the best I could honestly say about us right now.

I'm not worried if Conte goes. I want him to stay and make us a success, but if he can't manage that, maybe someone else will, or not
Until ENIC go, chances are we won't win anything anyway.
Let's see how Conte deals with Boro, to me that's the big game coming up. Lose that and I won't be Conte out, but I won't be in the fan club anymore, and I so wanted him as our manager

The fact not one fan on here or anyone you talk to is surprised by the result tonight says it all. Deep down we all knew how tonight would go. We are Tottenham and will never change.

It don’t sound great those conte comments does it.
But its not The little bald idiots fault tho hey. When is he and Enic going to be held accountable for the shit state Tottenham are in on the pitch. Conte is going he is off who you going to blame, two of the best managers in modern football fuck off without winning anything. And they are both serial winners at clubs with that thing called AMBITION!!! In our case complete lack of Levy Lewis and Enic out!!!! We are the Southern Version on Newcastle UtD run by the Cockney Mafia!!!

Conte is all over the place with his comments and it's hilarious how that drives the narrative so much now. Apparently we all need "patience" and time to work and see improvement, but maybe he's too impatient for that! He's happy with the window, but it weakened us! This is one of his best group of lads ever ?, but maybe he's not the right man.

It would help if he took a slightly longer view.

Conte clearly is an emotional guy which is the worst thing to be when you’re managing a roller coaster team. A few days ago he was on cloud nine.

Setting up a team whose creativity is supposed to come from Sess and Emerson in the wingback roles and you are not going to score goals. So I'm glad he's taking some of the flak.

What about the desire and hunger from the players, that seems to be omitted from your post. They had more energy, more passion and desire to get stuck in than we did.
