Keep him on to do what? Like I said in a previous post it should be out with the old and in with the new, Levy understands this.

We'll need someone to run the club. The Guggenheim lot used Magic Johnson when they bought the LA Dodgers. Levy has been in football for the last 20 years and knows the club quite well. Who would you rather have?

I'd rather have someone that as a record better than one trophy in 14 years.

Even if it is a media stunt from Cain Hoy, reality is we would definitely benefit from such media stunt. I mean, we need stadium investment and stadium naming rights - such talks in press will only increase the profile of the club. So, even if deal doesn't materialise, I guess it could help us

I always read about people talking about rep this and rep that in response to news reports. You get it a lot with transfer sagas, people saying stuff like "well that makes us look bad, it will put other targets off...", or "got to be good for our image there, we must be one of the biggest clubs in world football, that means players will be looking at this report and thinking..." or whatever.

In my opinion it's basically bollocks. All the paper stuff is empty noise, people don't make decisions based on fluff. Only company's with stuff to sell to joe public engage in media stunts. There's no stunt here, and it's meaningless in terms of club profile. The only people who take any notice at all are us committed fans, and basically it doesn't make any difference to our supporting habits either.

I make a ton of spelling and grammatical errors if you correct them every time I post, you'll probably never have time to post your own views on this forum ever again.
Wicked.

That'll give me something to do with my pointless and essentially vapid life, and spare other posters from my badly-constructed and pedantic posts as well! It's a win-win :D

I don't think any of the Guggenheim lot have ever one a trophy unless you count the little league runners up 1980.
I don't know anything about them tbh, they could be like Gillet and Hicks, which would be a disaster.
Like I said anybody who takes over must be able to take us to the next level, if they can't we might as well stay with ENIC.

That's the thing, we wont know until they do. Then it's too late to go back.

Lets see what their plans are.

Levy has taken us to where we are now on a much limited budget. If he gets more money to spend, all logic points towards us doing even better.

You can argue all you want that Levy is a cheapskate, but the fact is that he's done remarkably well with the funds available to him.

So let me get this right; individuals from Guggenheim, a company with a track record in investing in sports and media, have created a separate company Cain Hoy? A day after they were created, Cain Hoy make a public declaration that they wish to purchase Spurs.

I don't have any experience in finance or the like, but doesn't this look pretty nailed on? The experienced guys from Guggenheim wouldn't create a company and announce that they want to buy Spurs, if they weren't 99% sure that they (i) had the money to do so and (ii) their bid would be accepted.

Or are there some glaring facts that I'm missing?

There are some glaring facts you are missing:

1. They haven't publicly declared they wish to purchase Spurs.
2. They have publicly declared an interest in purchasing us, pending negotiations.
3. Having the money and agreeing a valuation are completely different things, and that means that they are not 99% sure a bid will be accepted.

Basically the evidence on which your analysis is based is candy-floss.

He's taken us to 6th with 100 million pound, Everton got to 5th with less money.

They were helped by the fact the we were in the Europa League and they had £50m worth of players on loan. We will finish above them this year. We are not a better or more successful club than Utd because we finished above them last year.

You do realise that the £100m came from the sale of the best player we've had in years, right? Besides, I don't think it's fair to give Levy the blame for the many failures of AVB and Sherwood. If you want a chairman who never gets manager appointments wrong, I'm afraid you'll have to wait a while.

Can't use Europa league as an excuse, we've been in the europa league and finished 5th before.
They had 50m worth of players on loan, so what? We could have done the same, we spent 100 million instead

We will finish above them this year.
I hope you're right.

We were better than them last year, as a club you're right because we've won one trophy in 14 years, they've won 12 trophies in 14 years.

I think the BSoDL need to up their game

Anyone remember the song 'Seasons in the sun" by Terry Jacks?

Now i'm imagining Mullers singing this as he has his morning shave and dump. Well, shave anyway.

Goodbye Levy, you bald bellend
We've known each other since oh fuck knows when
Together we want CL please
Finished fourth oh what a tease
Broke our hearts, we're on our knees

Goodbye Levy, it's hard to cry,
the grass is greener, yes oh my
Now that a buyouts in the air.
Levy bashers everywhere.
Think of me and I'll be there.

We had joy, we had fun, we had Levy on the run
But the chase did not last
his bastard sons replied too fast

Goodbye, Levy, please sell for me,
To some yank or arab family.
Your transfer dealings were all wrong.
Now i've wrote this fucking song,
wonder how we'll get along.

We had joy we had fun, sang one of Daniel Levy's sons
But the fun will not last
Football moves on just too fast

Goodbye Levy, and now I sigh,
No moutinho, I have to wonder why
we never signed him I regret
Fucking right we won't forget
Ah but you tried, well wanna bet

We had joy we had fun, Levy rumour number one
But the fun did not last
He spunked the Bale money too fast

We had joy we had fun, Levy couldn't be much meaner
But beware the bogeyman,
the grass isn't all that greener

We had joy we had fun, Levy you dwarf so and so
Yet his bastard sons all go
Best the devil that you know

:sneaky:

Ok then it's not fair to give credit for our one trophy and champions league qualification.

Who would you like as Chairman if we go the Magic Johnson route? The only one I can think of is Klinsmann. Vega is a very successful businessman but wont exactly get everyone excited.

I agree. The chairman shouldn't get the credit for single achievements like that. But Levy has built a foundation that gives the manager the opportunity to do well.
