I was just wondering if anyone who follows the junior teams knew anything about him before last night. I'd seen his name around but never any particular mention of goalscoring and he seems to have come into the squad from nowhere. He's not even had any loan experience.

I'm not starting this thread for a discussion about whether he will make it - no chance of telling that but just interested to see if people had heard of him?

Loaned to Dagenham & Redbridge at end of last season for a month with a couple of appearances. Did not particularly impress.

Missed perhaps as 18 months of his 2 year academy experience but given a professional contract. Has scored at a reasonable rate for Spurs X1 sides since that date but didn't impress very much in his one NextGen Series match.

Kids develop at different rates and I guess he must have impressed Harry in training to get into the squad fior Wigan, and pleased he took his chance. Can play as a lone striker and reasonable pace. Still a bit rough around the edges but only 19 so plenty of time to develop

Nope, I hadn't. Thought he did well tho, good runs pulling defenders away, and let's be honest, if Bale had passed at least once, the kid was thru. Not nagging Bale, but he did seem reluctant to pass to him.

Has the stature, strength, pass and pace to be that front man tho.

Was quite surprised and pleased, was actually gutted he didn't score his one chance.

Can't even find mention of him on Windy.

Thought he had a good spell yesterday.

I thought he did pretty well for a cameo, didnt get on the ball much but showed good movement and worked hard, It seemed like he tries to play on the shoulder of the last defender and get in behind the defence which is something we maybe lack at times. Hopefully he keeps progressing and we see more of him.

Really thought he was going to grab that late goal.

I like the looks of him, would love to see him get a couple of games here and there!

Great? come on, he did very little but put a chance into the side netting. Not all his fault asd for much of the second half our midfield decided to not be arsed, but he was hardly great

Not.better.than.Kane.

He did look very promising. Good close control and was strong for a small lad too. Pleased to see more fruits of the Academy coming through!

Gotta agree. Sorry but I feel some overreact on this forum in concern with our youngsters. Like a few good cameo appearances from Townsend and all of a sudden he should be starting various league games. But I will agree that his body language was good and he didn't look nervous in any way. Did well to not let the occasion get to him in any way.

His physcial attributes size/speed/movement impress me more than Kane. Didn't get much of the ball so can't tell that part of his game which I'm sure is way behind Kane.

Never had seen or heard of him before. Was surprised to see him come on. Done well for his short time on.

May end up another Barnard? Who knows

Liked the look of him and he certainly seemed confident.
At least he was on the spot to try to convert the 1/2 chance that fell to him.
The crowd reaction was very positive after the initial raised eyebrows and 'Cameron who?' inquiries.

Tough to say. He was enthusiastic, but he wasn't there for long enough to take a view really.

The issue Kane will always have as a player is his total lack of pace.

the positive is that at 3-0 up we are finally able to blood some youngsters. Give them a taste, see how they do and give them incentive that hard work will lead to more appearances.

I want him to make it because a good academy is worth millions and will keep us there or there abouts for the next decade.

His movement was good and he didn't look out of place. He had a kind of freedom about the way he moved, confidently and smoothly. Now all he needs to show is that he can play a bit too. Have to say I think instinctively that he has a chance of making the grade, and I don't feel the same about Harry Kane.

Any of our youngsters getting an opportunity and showing they have a bit about them is always welcome, and I wish Cameron all the best in the world.

However, have to say (seeing as others have commented) that Kane looked very promising in the pre-season games that I saw him in - as much so as Tom Carroll (who I also rate). Kane has great technique and has a bit of imagination. Also a determined so-and-so. I like him a lot. Fingers crossed on that one.

As I say, let's hope a few of them progress and start to justify a place in the match day squads more regularly in the next year or two.
