Unless there is a future fee, no point in getting rid in loan. We need players to leave to bring in new signings. Loans just won't cut it with our squad the way it is

If he doesn't feature much in Poch's plans, and the problem for us with movement in is wages, I don't see the harm in it tbh. Otherwise he's soaking up wages to play the occasional match.

I'd love to see Capoue hit a streak of form as I still think he's capable of being a great DM for us, but with Stambouli showing some very nice play today I have to admit I'm more ambivalent to a proposed Capoue loan.

I don't get it with Capoue. He just doesn't do enough for me. Holds onto the ball too long and doesn't look fit. If Tommy C were here, he'd be 6th choice for me (maybe even 7th depending on Velkjovic). If Mason wasn't injured, or Bentaleb away, I don't think he'd be close to the squad.

I'm actually going to contradict myself now and say, given a new CM is unlikely, maybe a loan would be best for everyone.

I think that's fair. But if a Capoue loan does make going after a new CM more likely, I'm then all for it.

Still holding out hope for Delph even though the papers are seeming to imply a possible move to Liverpool. I just don't see him being particularly beneficial to their system, while I think he would be very good in ours. Of course, McCarthy would also be a wonderful move to make, but I think that's extremely unlikely.

Yeah, I agree on all that.

There are a number of 'senior' players, including Capoue, that do not seem to be in Poch's long tern plans.
I'd rather an outright sale than a loan if (a) we have an upgraded replacement or (b) if there is sufficient good cover in the
positions of these 'senior' players.

A loan would only shorten the length of the contract which will result in whittling down the player's value.
However if we do receive an offer for an outright buy, it would not make much difference if the player was sold a little under the figure that we are looking at, as, if we can't get rid of the player now, his value would fall in the next window plus we would have had to pay his wages for a further half season.

I see loans as pointless, I really hate them.

Yeah I think if he's not wanted by us and no one wants to buy him we should keep him, not play him, pay Him, let his value decrease and do nothing to showcase him in the hope of selling him in the summer

He should be very attractive to a team struggling in the PL. Depends on price but he would have done well for instance for Sunderland yesterday.

Don`t see him going we are not really linked with any defensive midfielders we have so many games in the next month so hopefully he can step up.

Moyes wants him apparently.
Capoue in my mind is the odd one out when Bentaleb comes back, I wouldn't be surprised if ala Holtby he's loaned out deadline day.

A move to Real Sociedad would be great for him. That team definitely have a soggy middle - brilliant opportunity to make a mark.

Against Burnley he sprinted 30 yards to cut out an attack on the wing.
Unfortunately it was our attack.

IMO Capoue will do very well in his career in anywhere but England.

The Premiership isn't too good for him, he clearly just struggles with the fact that you have to be 100% physical 38 games a season and you don't get a rest. The football almost comes after the work here, as opposed to a Spain or Italy where the game is more technical but the physicality is far, far lower.

Same goes for Paulinho/Soldado/Chiriches/Lamela and probably more. That's the reason we're doing better than we were - these guys are out and the British guys who 'get it' are in and taking the chance. If you're a player like Vertonghen/Lloris/Chadli/Eriksen who is a bit competitive: There is no better place to be than the Prem.

Townsend hasn't done as well as Lamela and IMO, doesn't work as hard, so while desire is an important trait, I would argue that Lamela is better in that respect.

Don't really get your point. There's players from every corner of the globe who have come to the premiership and succeeded. This isn't about being British or not, it's about if they fit what Poch wants or not. Personally I think Lamela will "get it" and has the desire to, Paulinho has shown minor glimpses of getting things and hope he stays although 50/50 if he'll work in a Poch team. Soldado has simply lost all his confidence.
I'm not sure you can put it all down to the English guys being reason why we're doing better, hell Mason wasn't even on pitch for best performance vs Chelsea.
Think it's a little harsh basically calling those players listed uncompetitive, they've achieved things in career and I get feeling all are working hard in training and trying to forge career here it just comes down to if they fit into Pochs philosophy.
