Wasn't it Cueller that handled the ball in the Old Firm match last season? If so I would welcome him with open arms.

That being said he is a very tidy player and would fit the "El Dunne" mould that has been talked about on here a lot.

I've never seen him play, Is he good? 10m seems a lot for a 3rd choice central defender who's never played in the premiership.

Villa invoked a release fee clause.. £7.8m. Why didn't Comolli follow this up? Very disappointed from Lincoln.

seems strange Villa are in for another CB, but at that price it may well be worth a bid on him, see if he wants to come and join Hutton at the lane!

I'm sure if Comolli along with Ramos thought Cuellar was good enough we would've got him. Otherwise like I said before 10m euros for a defender who will be be 3rd choice behind King and Woodgate and who's never played in the Premiership is a lot.

I dont think we are looking for a 3rd CB, more along the lines of a joint 2nd CB, With King still not playing alot in Pre season i think our other CB may get a fair few games and King gets kicked for selected games untill we know he can cope with a run of games again

I thought we paid 8m euros not £8m. Interesting you mentioned Kaboul, Villa wanted him ahead of Cuellar.

nah I think Cuellar has only just realistically become available for a good price. If Rangers weren't knocked out of europe then you could have added another £4/5m to his value as he was valued around £12m

Our deals have been much more complex IMO, we've been mainly dealing with overseas clubs, plus the stock exchange and work permits.

Villa have signed from mainly English clubs and the transparency isn't as much in question.

Robbie Keane to Liverpool was fairly quick as was all our transactions between English clubs.

Cannot believe we're gonna miss out on Cuellar, he looks qusality and Villa have beaten us to it. Just hope the Corluka deal is sealed

Cuellar see's Davies and Laursen and easier pair to oust than king and Woodgate. Spurs see Corluka as a younger more versitle option than Cuellar. Good luck to Villa and Cuellar.
