Jesus what a week.

Everyone must be like, I'll have some of that.

Feck knows what comes out tomorrow.

Who's buying these players then? Why would you buy a player the manager does not want or like? Our club sounds madder by the day

Did he not join when we were on that Far East tour? It may be as simple as that, he had to train alone to start with and wait for them all to come back. I cannot remember.

"It’s hard to wipe the smile off Nacer Chadli’s face these days. If he’s not baring all to raise awareness for male cancer, he is finding the net for Tottenham and proudly reminding us they have never lost when he’s scored."

****s jinxed us/him.

Ah that could make sense. Still concerning that AVB didn't want him, though not surprising.

I remember AVB playing Chadli at the start of the season even when he was craps but I now AVB didn't want him

AVB wanted Hulk, Moutinho, Rodriguez and Villa from the Bale money, However he did want to keep Bale for another reason and begged Levy/Lewis not to sell.

That was just for starters...

Daily Mail Exclusive: 'Chiriches forced to drink against his will and placed in precarious positions.'

"I freegin, lovez you man...aaaarrrgh...." said Chirches, shortly before disappearing down a manhole.

If this isn't yet further proof Baldini had a heavy hand in the summer of 2013, I don't know what is. What does that leave, only Paulinho and Capoue as players AVB actually wanted?

Going through 'The Magnificent Seven' we can decipher that....
Chiriches - Baldini recommendation
Paulinho - I'm leaning towards AVB's recommendation
Eriksen - Baldini
Capoue - I'm thinking AVB
Lamela - obviously Baldini
Soldado - Baldini
Chadli - Baldini

Would that be right?

What's the problem here, except for the headline?

It's a really positive, enthusiastic interview from a player who is doing well and, of course, someone has picked up one random (and historical) bit of negativity and made a headline from it.

It never fails to fill me with amazement just how many people are willing to make utter arseholes of themselves by posting horseshit based on an inflammatory headline, either because they haven't read the article or, worse yet, because they have read the article, but have misunderstood it as a result of having been manipulated by the headline.

In this case, it isn't even the headline on the original article, it's the headline on the thread.

How fucking stupid are most people? The answer seems to become more depressing every week. Unless it's stupidity, there's no excuse for it.

Good night. Sleep tight ;).

Despite not being his biggest fan but if AVB was allowed to acquire the players he wanted, I believe his reign would have been distinctly more successful

Probably less amazing than posting on a forum for the sole purpose of attempting to imply that you're better than other people. You make some great contributions to this site, but you undermine yourself with this sort of stuff. You lambast others for posting 'content-less' posts, but do you genuinely think such an antagonistic approach will induce positive discussions?

You can make comments like that on the news article page. This thread is very clearly singling out Chadli training alone under AVB, which is why it is taken as an excerpt from the article in the OP.

Am I supposed to call you stupid now?

Half agree.
All of football manager want to have the player they really want.
But most of club can't buy the player because it's so competitive to buy a player at the moment, means really pricey.
Recently, I believe, the most important point for being a good manager is doing his job done well with player the managers really do not want to have.
AVB has much better chance to have better result than Pochi, so I half agree with you.
Sorry for my bad english.
Good night!

Of course it would have, but we are not a financial powerhouse that can spend 30-40m on each player the manager wants. AVB had unrealistic targets and a lack of other options.
He basically wanted levy to buy his Porto team, that's just silly
