Fuck this box to box shit that TS had him playing in (especially when it was alongside another Box to box)

He should either be a LWF or RWF or our back up to Eriksen as a number 10. I think he's a tidy player and I expect more to come
He wants to play in the middle its where he plays for Belgium

There's a strong connection between our Belgians, they get on really well. Holtby seems to be included in this group. Hopefully, their comraderie will help them improve individually and as a team.

Chadli was excellent at Twente and has the attributes to be a top quality player. We shouldn't write him off after one season. I'd like to see him return to playing his natural positions, centre mid doesn't suit him. He did very well as a left wide forward at Twente and has been very good as a centre attacking mid for Belgium. I'm hoping for a big response from all our 'new' players next season.

Aren't you contradicting yourself there?

I don't mind him playing more centrally as long as he's the more advanced of a 3 man MF. If Tim was in charge of Belgium he'd probably put chadli and mirelles central in a 4-4-2

I don't think so. His natural positions, or the ones he's regularly played and had success with, are in much more attacking positions than where he's played for us in recent games. He was played as a centre mid next to Paulinho recently and hasn't quite looked the part as his defensive abilities aren't up to the task. To be fair, he didn't look amazing as a winger for us under AVB but part of that was AVB's set up. He excelled at Twente when given freedom to attack the box from a wide position as a wide forward.

I actually think his best spell with us was when he got the odd game as an attacking mid behind the striker, which is where he plays for Belgium. He tends to interlink with Hazard who comes in from a wide position. I think that was under Tim when Ade was back in the squad and before he got Kane involved.

He is the kind of player that doesn't make it in the prem and then pops up a few seasons later winning the Europa league or something for a European Team. He is a quality player but he will only stand out in a team. He isn't going to take on 5 players and smash one in every week or skin full backs at will. But in a proper team he will score a few, assist a few and use the ball intelligently. I like him and would like to see him used properly rather than as a box to box or holding midfielder. Tim really was quite insane.

Mate who sits in front of me at Spurs hates him but I liked him more and more as the season went on. It's not exactly rocket science - the more he played, the more confident he became. And the more daring he became with his runs and passes. He still has a lot to do but he certainly has the potential to be an excellent player for us. If we end up buying someone better in his position then so be it but at the very least he's a great squad player and I don't mumble under my breath with discontent when I find out he's in the starting line up.

All our 7 signings should be better off for the year they've had. Even Lamela & Capoue, who have been injured most of the season, will be more used to the culture and the language etc. It all helps. I just hope that Soldado shows his Valencia form and, more importantly, we play a system that suits him.

Obviously all the signings playing better will be great for Spurs but also for me personally when all my Arsenal/West Ham/Chelsea etc mates come out with the weekly '100m wasted on shit' comments. I can just shove it down their throats when they realise they're actually quite good after all*. So bored of it, it's pretty much the only thing they say when talking about us.

*in which case, Madrid will bid for all of them the following season and they'll all fuck off**

Never rated him before he came to spurs (yes I do actually watch a lot of Dutch footie due to my Dutch roommate) and honestly can't see where everybody's optimism comes from BUT I would keep him as back up.

Don't think I'll ever forgive him due to THAT miss against arsenal, I mean fuck me, how did he not score???

You've been on his back since literally Day 1...

Come on mate, surely you must have seen his quality in games such as Southampton away, Newcastle away, Benfica away etc...

I think if Poch comes in Chadli could easily play the Left-wing-forward/Rodriguez role in his system. Chadli has the same amount of ability of Rodriguez, if not more.

Same thing could be said for FDB and Viktor Fischer, i think both managers could bring a lot out of him.

I like Chadli, he offers us a very interesting option but I think his best use is coming in from the left, from here he can interchange with the central midfielders when necessary and he can use his sheer strength and heading ability to beat a FB and pop up at the back post or support the striker. From the Left he can comfortably roam in between the midfield and defense of the opposition without getting crowded out, similar to how we used Kranjcar. We've seen that Chadli has a a good shot on him and I put a lot of his performances this season down to a lack of confidence, I bet I'm right in saying he was the least exciting signing we made last summer, also the cheapest so he was never given much attention by the fans, put in a few below par performances and he became a scapegoat early season. Tim did well in playing him off Adebayor, from here he could see a lot of the ball and interchange with Eriksen so he was never properly marked and he could comfortably use the ball which restored some of his confidence, the goals against Newcastle and Benfica also did wonders for him IMO. I'm really looking forward to seeing him develop under a new manager.

I have read articles discussing Ronald de Boer frequently being at FC Twente matches, and being somewhat involved with the club. I would assume that his brother is likely equally as knowledgeable about their players as he is.

Agree with this, his last season at Twente was in Left wing Forward position where hs got 15 plus goals or assists i cant exactly remember, so much of last seasons fuck ups was because we were playing the wrong players in the wrong system of position. Thats why i really think we dont need to buy that many more players, just get the ones we have fit and play them in the right part of the pitch!!!

Whoever we get as Coach, I hope the first thing he does is ask all of the players where their best position is and what system they like playing in. We've spent far too long trying to force square pegs into round holes.
