"When" not fucking "if"

Lets give this Spurs and Coaching team the credit they deserve. We are better than or at least the equal of any team in our group. No pessimism from me this draw.

I'll stick with "if" though.

lol why are you getting so aggressive about this? People have different opinions, it is what it is.

It's not " small team mentality" to want to play a glamour tie, if anything it's the opposite, you could argue it's "small team" to want an "easy" group so we can coast through out of the group because we don't believe we are good enough to get out of it with a top tier side...

See, it's easy to throw labels around, the reality is people are just slightly disappointed we didn't draw a side like Real or Barca because this is what the CL is all about and that's totally fine, no need to get pissed off and fling insults at people because they don't share your opinion.
Exactly, I was hoping for one of Barca, Real Madrid or Bayern but still would still fancy us to progress particularly against the other 2. Nevermind, I'm just glad I have heard of those 3 teams.

Yeah, we'll get those ties later won't we. What's so hard to understand about that?

I understand that, I never said I didn't understand that? I haven't actually disagreed with him...lol.

I am simply saying why is it so bad to want it earlier?

Does it feel a bit Europa League to anyone else? Won't be easy (away in Moscow and Leverkeusen) but will be gutted if we don't qualify.

I am content with the group. Its nice to think of big name ties but ultimately its about winning and progressing. If I am thinking long term, then this group is great because it gives us more of a chance to earn prize money for wins in the group and coefficient points for next year when we are bumped up to Pot 2. (Actually, I think we will be in Pot 1 next year.)

As holders and PL winners right?

To be fair though after I hear the Champions League song before the game my erection will take all the blood from my brain and I'll forget who we're playing anyway.

Because there's more chance of getting knocked out of the group.

You are making a lot of assumptions about what I want, I expect us to play top tier teams because I think with the quality of our squad that's what we deserve.

I want us to win it as well, I don't think we will but that's what I want, I think we have a chance like any other team, albeit a smaller one but a chance nonetheless.

Just because I am not writing with my emotions doesn't mean all I want us to do is get in a group with Barca so I can drool over Messi and co, I couldn't give a toss about other teams or Messi, if I did I would have dedicated my life to watching them.

I only care about Tottenham and I want to watch us play against top quality oppposition, not because of who THEY are but because of who I believe WE are, a team capable of more than we are given credit for.

So that's why I wanted a tougher group, I understand what you are saying and I respect your opinion, I get what you mean, it's better to go further than get knocked out in the group and I am not disagreeing with that, I am simply saying there is nothing wrong with wanting "glamour ties" and it certainly isn't a small team mentality for wanting it.

You are not getting the point.
It's not IF we get the glamour ties, but WHEN. The big teams will inevitably appear if we progress.

No point in discussing this any further. The group is set

Nah. Teams playing their best sides, everyone going all out to stay on the biggest stage in club football, and huge financial rewards. It's a far cry from playing FC Carryabag in front of half full stands as you wait to see which CL dropouts get fast tracked into the 284th round of fixtures.

Getting barca or Real in the knock out stage is a bigger game than in the groups. if you play them last in the group ( I know it's 2 games against the teams) and they have qualified they will rest players. In the knock outs the intensity of the game will be more.

If we were going out in the group stages, which we likely are, i would rather have gone out in a blaze of glory to Barcelona or Bayern
