If we were going out in the group stages, which we likely are, i would rather have gone out in a blaze of glory to Barcelona or Bayern

Here's a suggestion...we don't aim to go out in the group stages.

I know...your mind is blown.

I know Ill get shot down for this. But are we really pushing as hard as we can to bring in some talent?

Nothing wrong with wanyama and jansen. But sureyly we can bring in a couple of tip top signings with CL experience?

I hear your gooners have an okay group. Think they'll beat Ludogrets?
you sure he's a gooner? Since he is constantly pumping Pool's midfield and disparaging our I thought he was a scouser. Either way he most definitely ain't Spurs!

I hope we get through, course I do, but we have a very tough group, there are no donkeys in it

Of course not. It's the Champions League for fucks sake!

Last time we were in it we beat the European Champions.

Chin up.

Don't see us qualifying out of our group tbh, should beat Celtic but Monaco and CSKA will likely beat us

Agreed, i think we will end up pointless, Levy will fire Poch, Paul Sturrock becomes head coach, we get relegated, Dele signs for Arsenal and i call round your gaff and poke ya wife one.

Ain't life fucking grand.....

Celtic aren't in our group. We are much better than Monaco, as we showed last season and CSKA is a tricky place to go but I think we're more than capable of beating them at home.

For a CL group, it has a touch of the Europa League about it. Would have liked a glamour team in there.

The selfish part of me, getting to watch the three home CL matches wanted to see us play one of the "big European teams". Memories of being there at WHL to watch our victory over Inter (the "big" team then) and almost as great was being lucky enough to watch our 4-3 defeat in Milan when Bale ripped them apart was an amazing night. On here, the club on their OS and supporters everywhere still talk about those matches.

I also went to the games against Twente and Bremen, that we won comfortably and honestly remember very little about them. So I completely understand the view of people who wanted a different group and don't understand why their posts are being "spammed".

On the other hand, I did not get to go to Milan to watch us beat AC Milan but was worried we would lose and had hoped in fact to have had an "easier" draw on that occasion so that we had a better chance of progressing.

So, how many of you on here when we were drawn against Real in the QF had hoped in fact that we got Schalke, so that we had a better chance of progressing?

It is what it is. I don't have a problem with people lamenting the lack of a big team or the "easier" group we are in. The away games, I think will be tough. CSKA away will be intimidating, especially after the trouble at the Euros and Leverkeusen will not be easy home or away.

COYS. Looking forward to it!

Indeed if that was Arsenal or man city's group we would all be like, 'ooh how convenient! '
It's a group I'd expect us to qualify in 2nd long as we don't have stage fright.

Is a bit europa looking

You've said in the past you don't watch other leagues...so it kinda begs the question, how the fuck would u know?

They made CL in one of the toughest leagues in the world. I don't watch German club football but their national team is shit hot so it must be a great league

Nope.

We have a team that on form can take us to the pinnacle of the CL.

If Crouch can help us to a QF then i am sure Kane & company can.

I'm dumbfounded at those who think it's a tough group...... It's the CL ffs! Did you expect the dog and duck?

Realistically we couldn't have picked a much easier group seeing as we were in pot 3. Not guaranteed to qualify of course, but a realistic chance of actually winning the group.

I can understand those we feel a bit disappointed though. It would have been ideal to get one of the big boys and two relatively easy teams.

I will also be stunned if we sell out Wembley for those games, but I hope I'm wrong.
