United had 80 minutes to score after its not as if the goal came last minute. During the first 10minutes united played very high up the pitch so it was not easy for barca to knock it around at the start but after the goal united simply dropped off and everthing went down hill from there.
The reason barca was allowed to play abit is because united had their midfield way too far away from their defense. In contrast chelsea had simply put everyone behind the ball in their own half where there is not much space between the midfieild line and defender line. CArrick and anderson were way too high up (i presume told by SAF to press that high up) and too often they had to track back but against xavi and inesta that is just not possible).
Having all tevez, rooney, berbatov, and ronaldo all on the pitch really played the game into barca's hand as this left space for barca to keep the ball in united's half. Barca is a team who keep possesion there well and tevez rooney and co had track back all the time (not a good idea when you a chasing a game). Thats why united didnt have one shot on target in the second half. But if SAF had copied chelsea's tactics it would have been a very boring game.
