The thing is...when you come up against a better side you generally dont play well

I have read serveral manu forums on the game and some stilla rgue that barca is not a good side and manu is much better just didnt paly well on the night. This really annoys me as barca have played the same way all season cutting through the midfield and defense of teams they play against. And the champions league final is no different.

The only person who can stop barca is hiddink he knows the answer

i was gutted for Berbatov, after casually flicking around earlier on the evening I stumbled upon his Man U TV interview, he was almsot choking as he explained how all his fellows had a CL Champions Medal and how he wanted one too, well you got a 'medal', hows it feel?

And did anyone else think Harry's singing voice was excellent at the start?

Leeds were the better team to be honest.United didn't show up, though Leeds weren't as good as everyone makes out. Pretty much two sucker punches against the run of play.

where are all the anti-barcas on SC??

I've just got up, heavily hungover.

I'm not anti barca per se, I always had them as my 2nd fav team in europe as a kid (after Inter when Ronaldo and Recoba played for them) just anti their wanker fans on here (nevertalkaboutspursalwaysaboutbarca)

I wonder if we would have got any money if Berbs had won the champs league? Or was it all cash up front?

Anyway, best team won. I though Iniesta was absolute quality, best player on the pitch last night. It's a shame United never got going and made more of the final. Unfortunatly some Barcelona fans could do with learning how to handle victory in a bit more grace..

It wasn't necessarily anti-barca, it was just getting tiring of the many threads of the Barca love-in.

However, Barca played well, they didn't really let Utd get out of the starting blocks.

Utd started really well, but on Barca's first attack, they scored, and kinda held onto it by packing out the middle, really well.

Pique defended very well (wonder why he got let go from Utd?).

So, I have to hand it to Barca manager, he done exactly what was expected of Utd, defend with 11 men, catch em on the break, get a goal and its easy pickings from then on.

As I said last night, best team won.

Just happy fans discussing a team they admire, a team that made history this season in a part of the forum called "General Football"

Can't be so tough for you to live with that? Perhaps your trouble lies elsewhere? If not let them/us be happy in this part of the forum where Spurs isn't allowed to be discussed.

It's not that it's not allowed, but its been bordering on obsession Mikey!!

Lets be honest, Utd aren't exactly a team that cannot play football, so who ever won, it would have been good for attacking football.

However, barca were better. All Utd need is a couple of players to take the place of he ageing Giggs and Scholes, to improve on their team.

I'm glad Utd were gracious in defeat though, certainly took it better than Chelsea.

I really enjoyed winding United fans up in the pub all night. Was nice to be on the other end of it for once. I even got myself a Barca jersey especially. I like Barca and they would be my team in La Liga, but I don't support them with the same heart as I do Spurs. I'm delighted they won, and would have cheered them on against anyone. It made it all the sweeter seeing dirty Man United fans losing the plot when Barca were pissing on them. Hell, I even had a laugh with Liverpool fans tonight!!

Marvelous wasn't it .

We all knew Man Utd would win the league before the season started and the 760 games would just be about going through the motions .

Yet the overbearing Man Utd fans don't understand why some Brit's would not support them against a foreign side when they have won just about everything else .

I didn't intentionally wind them up but when Messi got that fantastic header the loudest YEEEEES came out of my mouth before I could retrieve it .

One guy reminded me I was a Tottenham fan and I guess he had a point that I was applauding United's demise as much as Barca's moral victory .

I didn't tell him that if it had of been Man Utd playing Arsenal I would have been rooting for the Goons .

Fair few people intimidating me so I left 5 minutes before the whistle .

I presume you mean that if Utd were playing Arsenal, you would have been rooting for Utd ?

Personally, seeing Berbatoss denied a winner's medal was enough for me to make the match worth watching.

man u just didnt have a combative midfielder capable of breaking barca's rythm like essien was able to do. i dont harbour any bad feelings towards carrick, cant blame him for leaving us to go there, but he was completely outclassed last night.

for me it showed a number of things
ronaldo is not in the top 3 players in the world,
messi is gods gift to footie (ok maybe a bit over the top but hes plays the game in such a way its hard not be impressed)
man utd dont have a CM pairing anywhere near as good as they previously have had
and pep's career is only going downhill after this:)

Agree with that. It's a shame Hargreaves is injured as he would done this job perfectly I think. Also Fletcher I think would of given them more energy in the centre to help prevent Iniesta and Xavi running the game.

I consider Ronaldo still to be the best player in the world.
