Hello

the needed changes to save our season for last five games ..
drop Ekotto for Rose: reason: lost his discipline recently.
drop King for Barthram: reason: produce someone younhh like lower teams do, better option than someone who can't run.
drop Gallas for Nelson:reason: looks like Nelson better at this moment !
drop VDV for Sandro: reason: protect the backline.

next season plan:
signing Shawcross
signing Baines
signing Marin
signing Striker

that's all i can say at this moment ..

We could also have Daniel Levy call Tony Pulis to see if he fancies living in London....

3) Sack Harry
4) Sack him again just in case

We could get Simon Cowell to do a BGT with Harry's dog in it, I guess if H.R can't read or write properly, his dog must've signed Saha and keeps changing 4-4-1-1 to 4-4-2 without Harry knowing, so i guess Harry is innocent!

A back line of:

Walker Nelson Barthram Rose

Looks really really good that.

if you looked to the reasons which i said in thr thread, and also supporting them with Sandro - Parker partnership in the middle, we could manage better defence than current one, big profile players not important if 2 CB aren't fit and playing alongside LB who usually lose his man ?

oh, how many goals we conceded since Newcastle game ?

Shawcross is amazing....on Football Manager. Watching him in real life he is a shocking defender, there is a reason none of the big clubs are linked to him. (I can see Liverpool signing him for £30m though just for the lulz).

Whilst I agree changes are needed, we can't just throw an untested youth CB in and a makeshift LB who has hardly played this season. Nelsen I wouldn't mind but he did look fairly crap in the cup. We are completely fucked in defence tbh, no back ups, I mean we have out on loan:

Corluka (can cover CB and RB)
Naughton
Caulker
Bassong

Now I might not be a big fan of Basson but christ at least he would've filled the bench, we have 3 fit CBs atm, one who doesn't train and two who have played around 8 games between them this season. Corluka was always a decent player too and I would've liked him to rotate Walker in the cup or to have some competition but nope let's send them all out on loan!

Hello (may as well start with being polite, since you did)

I think we need changes for our remaining games too as we simply can't continue going the way we are. I don't think my changes would be anything like yours though, for obvious reasons (they are bonkers).

Change number 1 - Build the spine of our team around guys with some bollocks
That means that for all 5 of our remaining games the first names on the teamsheet are Gallas, Parker and VDV. Play them centrally, give them the freedom to go absolutely apeshit on all the players including our most talented players if they aren't pulling their weight.

Change number 2 - Drop Modric
I don't understand your notion to drop VDV for Sandro to protect the backline. If anything we should drop Modric who we have been carrying for weeks now. As much as I think Modric is a majestic player when he is at his peak and confident he simply isn't putting in a shift. As soon as VDV went off yesterday the biggest issue wasn't having Defoe on the pitch it was that we were left with Modric as one of the two who absolutely needed to cut out the balls played into our defence, but he wasn't putting in any effort to close down the ball and then when Parker did, Modric didn't even make the effort to cover in behind him. We were totally paper thin. I wouldn't play him in a single game for the rest of the season even if he is our most talented player and makes us tick, we can't afford to have players hiding.

Change number 3 - Cut out the source, protect the defence
We need to spend the entire week drilling this. If we are without our best and most athletic centre back and are relying on centre-backs with very little pace then we need to stop them from being isolated against a quick forward. The way we do that is by stopping the balls from coming into the box. Sandro should play and be given the task that any time the ball comes into the area in front of the defence it is his. He should be given that responsibility and if he doesn't do the job he should be accountable for it. But you can see from the way he celebrated our goal against Swansea that he wants it. Every ball down the middle he should get his head on it. He and Parker should be a non-stop blocking machine.

Change number 4 - Every ball into feet
In particular I mean to Adebayor. Any balls that are going up in the air are likely to be returned as quickly as they are sent. We have to avoid at all costs the ball coming back at our defence so frequently because we need time to reset and when we don't we look all over the shop. That lifts the tension in the crowd and things just get jittery. Simply put if someone lumps a ball into Adebayor they should be castrated. In fact if anyone does it they should be subbed immediately and taken down to the medical room and locked in there with Joe Jordan and a box full of medical equipment. Simple attacking strategy, play into Adebayors feet and get as much pace and movement off him as we can possibly get.

Change number 5 - Make every player accountable
Now isn't the time for Harry to be nicey nicey. If a player isn't up to scratch during a game they have to come off. If a player isn't fit then they shouldn't start. Every player should know their defensive role (full on pressing from the front 4, centre of the park domination from Parker and Sandro, stop crosses coming in from the full backs, and keeping the defence tight and structured from the central defence). If the players know exactly what they need to do then they should get hammered if they don't do it.

As for next season only Baines would be interesting. Marin is flakey and isn't going to do enough as a team player to get it done and Shawcross isn't good enough. We have Caulker coming back and should build our defence around him and Kaboul.

IOMLS - Totally agree. I know you're right but dropping Modric is a massive move. Having said that, if that doesn't shake up the squad then nothing will and we're doomed. Totally agree that some leadership needs to shown (effectively three captains on the field, each with their own responsibility area) and they're the right men for the job. In reality though, we are desperately in need of a quick start, get the confidence back and then capitalise.

It's all about mental fortitude now. How much do they want it? are they happy letting all the good work at the start of the season count for nothing? Can you look your captain in the eye at the end of the day? Simply, are you a winner.

Gallas has been good lately and he is hardly the only defender in the world to get bullied by Drogba. We need to provide the backline more protection so bringing Sandro in is the right call. I would play nelsen instead of king, Harry signed him for a reason so let's play him!

No one remember how crap Sandra was against sunderlnd?

It's not been forgotten, but it was one game. How many of our other players have had crap games? Even when Sandro was miscontrolling the ball and misplacing passes he still got in a lot of tackles and marshalled the area in front of the defence well. Our defenders didn't get exposed because he wins headers from long balls, tracks running players going into the space in front of the defence and generally works his ass off. If we were going to send every player we've had to the scrapheap for making mistakes or having a bad game then we wouldn't have many players left. At least he has good defensive insticts and work ethic and can help us protect our creaking defence.

Agree with your changes IOMLS.

If we dont concede any goals we will have a better chance of winning games, simple but effective. So stick Sandro or Jake in front of the defence and make him clear up anything or anyone who comes through our MF

And yep Modric needs dropping, at least for a game to shake him and the squad up. Arry will never do it though, he hasn’t the bollocks!

Sacking Harry will not solve any problem.nteam morale will drop even further.

We need to ensure king and gallas don't play together. King has lost his pace and is a liability now.

When in kaboul back?

We need to go back to 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-3 or 4-2-3-1. Whichever formation we are good at. Get back to basics. Play players in their correct positions.

I'd drop Modric

He's not given 100% for a long time

Sandro and Parker in the middle
