So then, big debate/moral issue now in the press.
Personally think he's done his time and should be allowed to play, if Lee Hughes can get away with drink driving and killing someone and go back to playing why can't Ched Evans?

I don't really remember the case too well, but clearly I commented on it back when it first happened as I have seen my posts.

I personally would not be happy with a convicted rapist turning out for our club or any other tbh. I don't care how talented someone is, if they rape someone they should lose the opportunity of ever having the chance to bank thousands a week as a role model to young kids imo.

Alternatively, he's served his time and has the right to pursue any career he wishes, barring any obvious concerns with child molesters working with children etc.

I don't agree. I wouldn't want him as a scout master let alone someone kids will see on TV. You can't have people like that in positions where kids will look up to them. It is bad enough that some kids will look up to muppets like Barton or Diouf let alone someone with a rape conviction in their back pocket.

He has served his time and should be allowed to continue his career, to not allow that would be continuing to punish him.

Also if you followed the trial he was harshly convicted in the 1st place in my opinion.

Anyone who still thinks footballers are role models is living in cloud cuckoo land.

I normally agree with this but these ****s, also named and shamed the victim.

He has no place in football anymore

Its also disgrace that we live in a world were a rapist feels ok to continue to be a footballer but a gay person does feel comfortable to continue or come out, whilst playing

I really agree with the sentiment of this post, but this part is bull though. If a footballer was to come out everyone would treat them like they were some sort of hero, when in fact the majority of people under about 40 just couldn't care less which hole someone is sticking it in.

Take Tom Daley for example. It was made out by the media that everyone cared that he liked a bit of bum fun, but after about a week no-one cared anymore as in general people don't

You say that but Hitzlsperger and Rodgers both didn't feel comfortable being gay and footballers. Robbie Rodgers did come back out of retirement though

Meanwhile the shits in football are given more than a second chance like Nile Ranger

Did Ched Evans name the victim?

I think it speaks volumes for the way 'date rape' is viewed in society that this is even a debate.

There's no way his club or governing bodies should allow it. We should be holding our sport to higher standards. He would be taking up a highly paid, public, position. That simply wouldn't be allowed to happen in almost any other walk of professional life.

He should be working in low paid manual labour for the rest of his days.

I don't know if he did it personally but his girlfriend did on twitter, reading the case and does make you disgusted

Considering that the NFL have imposed a lifetime ban for knocking out his wife, this is worse tbh

Well, if you think he shouldn't be allowed to play football for his crime, fair enough. I don't believe he should also be judged on something his girlfriend did though.

Fair enough, i reluctantly agree

but I have to admit having read the case and it was shocking how the defence conducted themselves. Even now he claims he is innocent when the girl was clearly not fit to give consent.

His family though has published CCTV of the victim which they had no right to do so, of the victim walking fine at the hotel room

Now the staff in that video say that she was struggling to speak and stumbling abit. They also say that McDonald came out saying "watch that girl I came in with she has been sick". Which he denies.

Interesting they footage of the incident as well as the tossers brother was recording it from outside with his camera.

I don't care for me, he should never play again. If he does, its one of the moments where I wish I could be a footballer and do a career ending challenge(which I never done, tbh i never done a high tackle or try to take someone out despite being a CB)

The biggest shock for me was that he felt the need to 'come out' at all. Thought it was blindingly obvious that he was gay all along.

Yep. I also thought that it as common knowledge prior to him making the "announcement"...
