If he gets done to Chelsea today, at least we know it's time to move on. I expect this will hasten our own striker moves now, there was suggestions Janssen was all lined up ready to pull the trigger if Batshuayi was proving too difficult, well that's happened now, so hopefully Janssen will be reeled in. Well, it'll either be Janssen or Sanabria, based on what we've seen in he media, hopefully soon too, as both clubs seem keen enough to deal, for reasonable prices (well, less than €40m).

For those stating we should have gone for Batshuayi whilst still at Standard Liege, ladies and gents I give you Janssen at AZ this summer for £12-15m??? Do we run the risk if we miss out of watching him bang in 20 goals for the likes of Everton or Southampton maybe, and then spend next summer watching us get linked for £25-30m whilst stating, "we should have gone for him when he left AZ...."

So after all that, he didnt actually want CL next season.

Well he Will get champions league again if he moves to Chelsea plus mega money where as we are a once in while qualifier if others have a bad season like last year.
Maybe we were used to flush out clubs like Chelsea all along still we move on to other targets.

Let's be completely honest here, if you're Bats and you say you want CL football do you do it for one year with Spurs when it'll be difficult to get in next year, or do you join Chelsea who might not have it this year but quite frankly with the new manager, money and players at their disposal are likely to be in it again and challenging it to win it soon.
I don't like Chelsea by any means and think a lot of players have wasted their time at Chelsea and done better things away from their (DeBryune). But if you just want CL football then even with us in it this year Chelsea makes sense. Maybe not for your overall career but I get it.

I'll say again, from all the reports, ITK etc... There's not really much we could have done to stop Chelsea.

What reports, ITK etc? I can hear a pin drop. The Chelsea story came out of nowhere.

Has it been confirmed anywhere that he's gone to Chelsea ? Genuine question or just press?

Oh well, they can seemingly buy Batshuayi, but they still seem incapable of buying any class

From all the reports and ITK surrounding our chase for Bats we did what we could. ITK talking about us being favourites etc... reports saying the same with yesterday a lot saying we were still likely to get him despite the Palace offer and that we were about to lodge our bid. Those reports and ITK.

My point is that even with that... Chelsea coming out of nowhere has beat us and even with all the good work we'd done there's nothing we could have done to stop them. We did what we could and Chelsea have just gazumped us

I can't believe how brain washed you all are, why would you be happy we are saving money for lesser quality!? like honestly you get NO profit from the club yet you can sit here and be proud that we didn't 'overpay' for a totally better footballer. Did you not witness our end of season collapse last season!?

The clubs' ability to buy players comes, in large part, from the success and failure of previous dealings. It is all connected. A big miss like Soldado can mean we are unable to make a great signing in the next window. So emptying out most of the pot on one guy is a big risk. As it stands we don't know if he would even be better than Janssen. There is never certainty, even seemingly sure fire hits can fizzle spectacularly.

So we're better off looking for good value. It seems to serve us much better than when we splash the cash.

French press seem certain.

Kristof Terreur -Belgian Sports journo for English based players is also pretty sure of himself, and he has risen to one of the journalists I trust the most. He seems spot on most the time with good relationships to players and agents and Club officials it seems as well

Bats has also followed the PL, FA and Chelsea on Twitter.....

But no, not officially confirmed....

Press mate. Is there still hope? People writing this guy off at their peril IMO. Would be a class signing for us.
