Nothing official has been said, but there has been plenty of reliable itk and respectable media outlets reporting that he's been a long standing target, one, moreover, that we had a personal agreement with to join us this summer. One report from a local French newspaper today, with no agenda to pursue that I'm aware of, was quite clear that we not only had an agreement with the player but with the club aswell, and that Levy failed to close the deal. It wouldn't be the first time he dicked around with the signing of potentially world class talent, just ask Aubemeyang.
Brilliant, a French newspaper "with no agenda to push" - because newspapers never make shit up to sell copies/get clicks, right? If that story had been in the Sun you'd have dismissed it out of hand (and been right to do so).
Aside from all that, the fact remains that the club has "led" you absolutely nowhere, and not "let you down" in any way either - everything you're angry about is as a result of your own assumptions, that's all. You have no evidence that "Levy failed to close the deal" - an assumption once again.
Of course even if it were all true, Chelsea coming in with 100% of the money up front (which we haven't got) and offering the player twice as much money per week would've sealed the deal under any circumstances anyway - just like the Willian deal. If they really wanted him our interest instantly becomes irrelevant.
I don't mind assumptions, I don't mind coming to your own conclusions - but blaming the club for leading you on and then letting you down when they've done no such thing is hilarious.
