Has bottle been brought up again after a defeat? Seriously?

sigh
Yep. If that was anyone's first thought after watching that I think they should give up 'supporting' the club.

How often do you see a team ravaged with injuries fight back away from and force penalties despite being well up against it.

The 'never die' attitude makes you feel good even if we lose. The only point that can be warranted is lack of investment but they'd probably have got injured anyway so!

Think ‘the project’ peaked too early and our expectations are beyond our reality - currently. Imagine the skill of Poch with cash to splash. Chelsea et al are very poor given their cash surplus.

This has always been my idea. The "project" was to get the new stadium underway, sign some youth and promote from within, then hit our stride at the 5 year mark right as we entered the new stadium. Then Poch goes and gets us in the CL, prem title hunt, and in the semis of seemingly every competition every season. The stadium is delayed, our players all need bumper contracts to keep, our expectations have only gotten higher and higher.

Hell, I doubt anyone thought that 4 years ago, we'd be struggling this season because our squad makes up 60% of an England squad that went too deep in Russia.

But here we are, and this squad and this manager need backing. 2 windows without a signing is negligent. Had a competent striker been out there tonight, we'd be in the finals.

Sick. Injury crisis and son leaving has fucked us over from getting to a final. Good 2nd half but not good enough

Kane, Dele and Son wouldn't have helped our defending :-s

Maybe might have given us better ball retention but we were cut to ribbons 1st half.

But so disappointing. So Close....... Tottenham Hotspur. Yadda, yadda

Please can we go all guns for a FA Cup win Poch?

Woooooooooo we're better than the 90s

Cellllllebrate good times, come on, do do do :singing::singing::singing:

We're consistently good and get Champions League Football every season. We will win something very soon, I just hope that when we do it will stop this obsession of Spurs winning nothing under Pochettino. Tell me what has Klopp won at Liverpool?

Haha here we go, people talking about lack of investment in the summer because we didn't get through on pens tonight, seriously you just can't help yourselves can you
It might seem tenuous but that doesn't mean it's necessarily incorrect

Tough.
If I’m a neutral (which obviously I’m not), Chelsea deserved it for their relentless hounding, forcing us back in two matches, to which but for a few good balls, we didn’t have enough answers to.

They’re obviously jammy in the timing of the match vs injuries, but whilst I applaud our effort, especially second half, on paper it’s the right result. Shame it’s ****ing Chelsea.

It wouldn't have gone to extra time.
It would have done under the old rules, away goals only counted and won the tie in the League Cup if the scores were level in extra time, not 90 minutes, I seem to remember us benefiting from that in the 2009 League Cup semi final against Burnley where we won the first leg 4-1 at WHL and then lost 3-0 in the second leg at Turf Moor after 90 mins and we only went through because we scored two more in extra time.

It's OK for u (maybe) I live up north and here this shit all the time and hard to go back with anything and just have to keep stomaching it... And before u say anything people know I love thisclub which is why it fkin hurts so much... I have no comeback to anyone currently... And can't really argue with it

Just shrug and smile. What can you do about it?

It doesn’t matter at the end of the day. Do we have a reputation for losing when it matters? Yep, absolutely and it’s well founded. There’s loads of reasons for it, but there’s not much you can do about it. Just like anyone talking about it can’t influence what their club does either!

Fuck em

Staggered by people sometimes.

That second half was possibly the best effort against odds I’ve ever seen with Spurs.

Thought it was absolutely glorious.

It may have escaped some people but Chelsea took on a completely crocked Spurs side, took a 2 goal lead and but for a dodgy lino and a change to away goal rules would have lost.

Fuck me

This 'great effort, even though we lost' mentality needs to change. Sorry but I'd rather be proud of the team for actually winning something. We've all be extremely patient, some more than others. While i dont subscribe to the idea we must win a trophy or we lose Poch/Kane/Eriksen etc. We need to stop falling at the semi final stage.

We arent spurs of the 90's or early 00's where a semi final was enough for a bus parade. We're very, very good. But with a bit of investment we could be great.

10th richest in the world. Im not niave enough to think that the stadium isnt massively affecting our means in the transfer market, but for fuck sake.

Good. Much rather we play more games. I’ve never sat watching a game of football and thought I’m so pleased Tottenham aren’t playing today.

We ain’t winning no league anytime soon, so it doesn’t matter if we have a few rested for some mythical title challenge. I want to win a trophy, more games means more chance of winning this ever elusive poxy fucking trophy.

Lose to Palace and I’ll be royally pissed off. Fuck the top 4. I hate that finishing 4th is so important in football.
These last 2 windows will be the last nail on the coffin if we don't sign any player.
I see no reason why our best players would want to stay (except Kane)
The new stadium is not a good enough reason to stay

Why would you think Kane would want to stay? A player of his ability is eventually going to want to win leagues and cups.

Why do you feel the need to comeback with anything or justify it? I live up north too, in Manchester...I just tell them to fuck off

It's not about the way we lost, it's because it's one less chance of winning something this season. I'd say it was the best chance we had. Let's see how the FA Cup pans out though.
But imo winning something was key to inspire some players to stay. Yes, even the League Cup
