No you don't. Otherwise it's not luck.

If you toss a coin and call heads and it lands on tails 5 times in a row, is that because you've made your luck? No. It's because you're unlucky.

Liverpool are lucky that Salah only got injured at the end of the season leading in to the world cup and has otherwise played virtually every game. We are conversely unlucky that Kane and All have got injured at the same time that Son is on international duty.
Where do my lucky pants come into this then? Who made them?

Ultimately the right team won over the two legs.

The only team that were capable of bottling it tonight were Chelsea...they didn't get a goal at Wembley and they should have scored more in the first half and in the second.

Great character in the second half to stay in the game and get the goal....we can point to Llorente's miss...but in reality we were incredibly fortunate over the two legs to get to within a penalty shootout of going through.

The squad we have doesn't have enough to make winning things realistic...obviously you always have A chance...but we don't have enough quality to tip the odds in our favour as all the other clubs in the BIG 6 have.

That is why when you look at the trophy hauls of the top 6 over the last 10 years, we are the odd one out...all the others have won at least 3 trophies...we have won 0.

The odds will not change until we set ourselves up for success.

I'm not angry at all tonight...we actually did much better than expected...we were massive underdogs for the game and very nearly got through.
I'm with you, painful though it is.

Poch on the injuries: "Sissoko is ok, just tired I think. A small thing sure for Ben Davies and the rest are ok."

Sissoko looked like he opened up his knee to me, kicking fckn Aurier. Our injuries don't get any more ridiculous this season.

Whilst it hurts to lose this one, I'm not too disheartened considering the level of opposition we would have faced in the final.

Now losing that final on pens vs Man Utd - that hurt.

I’d rather have lost in normal time.

I said earlier I never expect this side to win semi finals/big games, and I don’t allow myself to even imagine it. The sadistic bastards decided to lose via penalties this time though! Gave me the faintest of hopes!!

Lamela gets away with another elbow to the face. I wish he could be good at something else. Was playing really well earlier in the season but has gone right off in last few weeks.

Such a shame with the injuries as this is a pretty poor Chelsea side by their standards. No team in Europe would want to go into a semi final with their 3 best attacking players out. It's mad.

Fair play to the lads for digging in second half and taking it to pens.

Plus points: Rose is looking back to his best. Hopefully this goal will also help Llorente's confidence too. Winks continues to impress.

We could really use a signing or two before the window closes to give the place a lift.

I'm so annoyed they scrapped the away goal rule otherwise we'd be in the final

Typical of us. Just like we missed out on Champions league football the year Chelsea won it despite finishing 4th and they scrapped that rule straight after.

Just on the train back home, proud of the way we fought back from the first half display.

The scenes when Llorente scored were incredible. I think a lot of our fans have realised that getting behind players is really important.

We go again!

He was laughing and smiling just before the penalties started, im hoping one of the resident body language experts on here can verify.

...or we’d have been out in the first round against Watford....( I think it sucks too by the way)...but ultimately I think we were too timid on the first half today and that’s cost us

I was more devastated when lost to Chelsea 4-5 on agg in the 1971/72 semi's - cos i was there, they nicked it at the last knockings, flukey fuckers, 47 year ago.

Sorry...I was agreeing with you...it was Joe Cole I was referring too as talking shite, and your original comment was about Joe Cole...I know he’s Chelsea, but to disregard our 3 players out, claim Chelsea are far ahead of us (they aren’t in the league) was taking partisan to the extreme

Sorry mate.. ?
