Last night's result was not unexpected after all Tottenham are probably this country's best flat track bully, but come up against a good opponent and or shit themselves when carrying a degree of pressure/expectation.

How many times have I heard this. We never show up in the games that really matter

But this more to do with the games that really matter the teams we play against are just better. Every semi final and final we have lost have been to superior sides. Only one in recent years I can remember was losing to Portsmouth in the SF

Yes but it’s Spurs so Tottenham in my heart forever.
Same as me and most of us around the world. We're not going to change clubs because other clubs are more successful. The intense brand loyalty means owners like ENIC and others know the money will keep rolling in as long as they keep the club in the Prem

I do think Levy cares, he has just screwed up in regards to our team growth and trophies, this is his last chance with FP and AC in my eyes.
Last night proves the massive task ahead.

I dare say he does care, but ENIC haven't cared enough to anywhere near match the spending of RA for example. Hence IMHO would have preferred RA to take us over.

Sorry, can anyone shed any light on this Club Statement about homophobic chants?

I've had a quick squizz through the search function but I've never been compatible with that gadget on here, so apologies if there's already a thread about it or it's already been discussed, but it does seem odd to have a club statement but I've heard, literally, nothing about this until now.

Wondering about the homophobic chants as well. Heard nothing resembling homophobia in the ground, so assuming it's just a few people shouting something to someone.

According to Reddit it’s about the “rent boy” chants.

Yet almost everybody on here also thinks that playing PEH and Skipp together is not working and that we should use other midfielders.

And will have just witnessed us being absolutely bummed until we brought on TND, Winks, Lo Celso. And then suddenly we had a lot of possession and a couple of chances

Conté lost us this game and it's about time he stopped this point-making / experiment / mistake
You are correct.

I hope he's including himself in his assessment of 'lacking fight', because it's a team game with joint responsibility for performances. It's better to keep these type of post mortem comments behind closed doors IMO.
How does a goalkeeper show fight?

Even in the games we end up on top in like Man City we conspire to throw them away. Ajax we start slow and give ourselves a mountain to climb. We need to look very carefully at the mentality of those we buy. I've defended tanguy but you have to question the scouts who saw him warm up etc and thought yep record signing

Don’t think cup competitions are Contes thing . He seems to put the entire focus on league games . Think this was mentioned by an Italian journalist when he first came to Spurs ? Still doesn’t make up for the performance . Would take a win next Sunday over a win last night myself !

A couple of chances? We never seriously threatened. Those subs did absolutely nothing. He's not making a point. I wish people would stop with that notion. We heard it with Mourino and even Poch. The reality is the players picked are deemed the best available. If you seriously think that a guy like Conte who trains with these players every day knows less than a bunch of people on a forum, you may need to reconsider your logic.
Sorry for late reply. Was so annoyed I decided to give SC a miss for 48 hours.

Where to start ?

Firstly we must have been watching different games if you didn't see an improvement after the subs. And a couple of chances. Here's the one I was watching (link is to club's Official highlights)

Secondly, I said "point-making / experiment / mistake" and you decided, straw-man style, that I was only saying point-making. The truth is I don't know why he's choosing them over and over when the facts are plain to see in our performances and, as per my original comment, almost everybody on here seems to be think it's a bad idea. Some are saying he's point-making since he's also putting 2 keepers on the bench

Finally, the standard answer when people invoke the 'he must know more than you so be quiet' argument is, obviously, that if that's the case then what's the point in having a forum. Can we only ever say we agree with the club or manager ?

Fortunately that's not the case so, I don't know, perhaps Spurs Chat is not for you ?

Okay, so debate over because I disagree with you? The irony of this is delicious.
Erm no :X3: .... that's straw man again.

I think the debate should go on as long as we all want as we're on a forum discussing football.

However, if you don't think that we should be able to disagree with the manager or whoever else then maybe football forums and Spurs Chat are not where you might be most comfortable (y)
