I'm a huge believe in the psychology of sport. That win should have a big impact in the FA cup too - need to keep knocking down these psychological barriers......lets start with the bloody FA CUP semi-final

I think a season at Wembley has done us the world of good. We arnt scared of the big occasion anymore.

Did you see the post-match interview involving Redknapp Jr, Eriksen and Delete? Eriksen looked really pissed off when Redknapp asked if they were going to show their special handshake after Dele handed him the MOTM award. Eriksen said no quite brusquely and then walked off. Now I get why that happened: Redknapp had been slagging off Dele all week.
Didn’t come across like that at all to me tbh.

Oh ffs... every time you bring out this argument and every time you conveniently ignore the fact that it’s not the emotion that’s the problem it’s the lack of any semblance of faith.

In fairness to the original poster (and i have not followed the thread) "lack of semblance of faith" is quite fucking ironic from you given the fact that he would have been right on that thought for the last third of a century in this fixture.

Fantastic !! Along with the rest of you I've waited 28 years for this, and when it arrives I'm out of the country celebrating a big birthday in Rio. Ironically I got the news via my phone via wifi the hotel whilst waiting to be picked up from the hotel to goto the Olympic stadium to watch the first leg of a Rio State Cup final between Botofago and Vasco de Gama which Botofago lost 3-2 in injury time.
I was in the home section and felt gutted for them but that couldn't wipe the smile off my face from today's monumental result all the way back in Blighty. Great atmosphere at this local Rio derby.
Would you believe it, amongst the crowd bumped into the only person in the ground with a shirt from an English club and guess what it was ours !!!! (Worn by a local) I went up to him and shook his hand.

Were off to Buenos Aries next week and we have tickets for the Racing Club v River Plate derby game. From my knowledge Ricky Villa played for Racing Club immediately before he came to us and Ossie managed them briefly in 2002, on the River Plate side our own Erik Lamela played for them, based on that choice sorry Erik but I'm going for Racing Club because we will be in the home end and I'm not supporting a team whose traditional kit is red.

Had family over so had to record and tell everyone NOT to mention the score. Sat down to watch at 11.00pm, gutted at 1-0 down and thought here we go again, cat came and sat on my lap, speny 5 mins doing the normal claw thing cats do before settling down, then 5 secs later Eriksen scores I shout and jump up and I've not seen it since lol. Decided to get the beers out and it's now 2.30am after watching the goals again and again. Ist time I've been happy to hear the "you're shit" chant during a game haha

People are entitled to their opinions and that is what a forum is all about. But at the same time, other more sane people are allowed to take said opinions and retrospectively rub their idiotic faces in It!

It is why I rarely visit the match forums during the game, that and I would rather watch the match. People talk such utter bollocks! 5 minutes in; Kane is off form, dele is shit, Eriksen doesn't get involved enough, why doesn't Poch change it because it's clearly not working etc ad infinitum....

You honestly don't have to share every thought that comes into your heads, really, you won't get into trouble with the elders of the internet! But if you do.....be ready to get it thrown back it you later!

sure, not the grammar thread but to misuse this on this holy day, for shame.;)
I had to look it up before I posted it and was going to use "albatross". I wasn't entirely sure I had used it correctly, but I was hoping people would pass over it! ;)
Actually, having looked it up, I am not sure I am entirely off the mark. See Liew's article below.

Which is, of course, another word for support.

Now we can all be morose and fatalistic and that’s part of being a Spurs fan BUT if you give up on the team just because we concede then you aren’t really a Spurs fan because you’ve clearly not bothered to watch this side for the last 3 years.

Similarly if you call Dele a lazy useless **** who should be sold then you don’t really get to share in the joy of his two goals do you?

It’s really not that hard to express your instant match day frustration without completely shitting on either the entire club or indivisual players like they’re utter scum.

That’s the difference. And it’s not a hard one to spot.

Edit: I drunkenly replied to a post of @Bobbins when I meant to reply to someone else who I can’t even remember. Anyway the sentiment remains the same but @Bobbins certainly isn’t a serial moaner with a thin skin while I am definitely a poor user of smart phones when 6 pints in. COYS!
I was wondering why you chose him/her for the very reason you explained.

I believe you used the term correctly. Astonishingly erudite for a footy forum. What sets our fans apart!

I think you’re right and I didn’t think about it a year ago. The players are now used to playing in front of huge crowds at a big stadium. They won’t be overrawed now playing in the new place. It’s definitely going to help us going forward.

Did anyone else notice that the players didnt go into wild celebration when the ref blew his whistle... It was like one hurdle over and on to the next. Contrast that with Chelsea and their victory 2 seasons ago and their over the top celebration for getting a draw.
