See above

Seen. Much better wording! Now I get your point.

I don't think he went to Newcastle for the stability though, he is just telling them that to have a better future they need to be stable and that they shouldn't keep being unstable (like us).

I don't really think Keegan is the man to bring stability though.

How so? The odds for the jackpot are 14 million to 1. Even the odds of getting a tenner are more than 50 to 1.

I'd be better of walking into a bookies and laying my £1 down on the first random horse i pick out of a hat.

Shit i'd be better off betting on almost anything else in the world rather than the lottery.

You're joking, surely?

I'm not explaining it to you. Just read the sentence again.

Exactly. However Brazil_spur doesn't seem to acknowledge that point since it's been made at least once before that particular post.

He never said anything about joining NUFC for stability, so saying that he did or suggesting he did is just stupid.

He says he wants stability, nothing wrong in that. Good luck to him.

I find it increadibly strange how Hughton joining Newcastle coinsided with them starting to play well!??? could be a coincidence. Anyways If you read the artical you will find he is actually trying to warn the club to not make the same mistake we did. Thats what hes saying NOT Newcastle are more stable then spurs OR even I belive newcastle can be more stable then spurs!

Yup. Total misunderstanding of the point Chris was trying to make (and made with perfect clarity for just about everyone else, it seems). Newcastle also have a new owner—it was the repulsive Shepherd who was responsible for the constant chopping and changing, and the abysmal choice of managers; if they've got any sense, Ashley and Mort won't make the same mistakes.

As a team, Keegan and Chrissy could be a good match; Keegan does the airy-fairy inspirational stuff, Chrissy the nuts and bolts. And no, I don't think it's a huge coincidence that their results picked up once he joined.

Chrissy was one of the best LBs Spurs have ever had (the only better were Cyril Knowles and, maybe, Ron Henry), and served the club well and faithfully as a coach for yonks. Calling him a muppet is an utter disgrace.

What he said, about what he said. Very similar to what I said.

I have said before that I am disappointed that Chrissy took another assistant's job. He really should be making the step up to the top job at a lower division club by now in order to try and work his way up the managerial ladder. I suppose it could be argued that he is effectively having to do that job now at a premiership club as Keegan is there for the inspirational speeches only.

Oh, and I thought the Muppets was great. Not an insult. Pigs In Space, funniest thing on tv ever.

Things is there are good coaches and good managers. Some are great at both - others are crap at both. i'm thinking McClaren here. Actually he is supposed to be decent coach but evidently not a very good man manager or match technician.

I reckon Chris falls in to the latter category. He lives for his clip board full of crypic icons and notes and getting down to motivating on the training park, but leaves the hassles and streeses of operational management to the boys who thrive with it.

fuck off, your a muppet

how dare you call one of the club's greatest servants a muppet?

how can you say he is not right, 11 managers since 1997 is pretty poor, newcastle's record aint much better, but 11 is still very poor.

Chris Hughton - spurs legend

To be fair he isn't actually saying that the barcodes have stability, but that he wants it from now on.

Exactly, some people just like havin a pop. & forget very quickly what a good servant to our club CH has been. No wonder Tottenham fans have such a bad name...:bang:

If McClown hadn't been a very good coach he wouldn't have lasted five minutes at United. Brian Kidd's another one—fantastic assistant, disaster as a manager. I'm sure you're right—Chris has simply realised his limitations.

PMT or sand in every crack they own.

It seems that people on SC are bit over-sensitive when it comes to Chris Hughton.

He was a great player for us, agreed. But his role in the coaching set-up coincided with the least successful 15 years in Spurs history as a club.

Anyway i'm not dissing him as a player or even a coach, my point is that wanting stability after joining a club like Newcastle is like wanting to win the premiership after joining a club like, err Newcastle.

Yeh there is an outside chance of it happening, in the same way there is an outside chance of us signing David Villa, Gattuso and Robinho. But realistically it ain't ever gonna happen.

Calling him a muppet, well would you call Gazza a muppet for some of the stuff he has done over the years, despite being one of our best players since the early 90s? Probably.

Ginola - great player, again one of most talented players in the last 10 years, but the guy was a grade A twat (i've played golf with him so i know).

Anyway some people will have hissy fits and give out insults and neg rep for posting unpopular things, back to following the sheep.....BAA BAAA!
