I don't know that Benteke is the man for us but those who say he is no good are just plain wrong.
He kept Aston Villa up and he kept Palace up last year, he wasn't right for Klopp's Liverpool but he wasn't terrible there, I don't care if people don't like him, that don't mean he isn't any good.

There's a big difference between keeping palace up and fighting to win the league. The Liverpool experience showed he wasn't suited to the high press system, hence Klopp got rid.

That's what I said, doesn't mean he isn't any good though.

Salah and Mane don't have the hold up play to cover Kane. A number 9 (if we sell Janssen) AND a wide player is what we need, or keep Janssen and get a wide man.

Hold up play? no.9 ? you sound like the late Jimmy Hill...:D

We have to play fast expansive football on that Wembley pitch.

Liverpool have the right idea, watch their forwards the movement the pace....not many can live with that.

When Kane was out last season Son came in and we looked just fine, we need a lightning wide man who can play up top too,

We.re not WBA.

It wouldn't surprise me if all this Benteke talk is a smokescreen as we're now looking again at Zaha.

That's fair. Keane didn't settle at Liverpool either but we know what a decent player he was.

IMO Benteke is better than Lukaku. Palace would be committing suicide selling him. Benteke would be a great addition he'd offer a different option to Kane and could actually play in a partnership with Kane in certain games but do not see that happing....cost age
Nevermind the disagrees, double0. Lots of people in Belgium consider Benteke the better footballer than Lukaku. In fact, in our national team, Benteke was always considered first choice in the Wilmots era because he was a better fit due to his excellent hold up play for likes of Hazard, KdB, Mertens, Carrasco etc.

For sure, he's got much more strengths to his game than VJ (holding up the ball with back to goal, heading, strength). He'd be an excellent back-up for Kane in my opinion, but some still think the Morata's of this world are interested in that role.

Spurs fans: We need a player to take the pressure off Kane who is better than Janssen.

We get linked or Benteke.

Spurs fans: Not that one!

So Ihenancho isn't deemed suitable but Benteke is...

hmmm.
Iheanacho is a total red herring.

He has a buy-back clause which City insisted needed to be put in and we rightfully would refuse to do so. Why would we essentially agree to what would become a long term loan so we develop their player in order for them to snatch him right back when he either a) looks good enough for them or b) another team comes along and offers to pay more for him than what his buy-back clause is so they can make a further profit?

The thought had crossed my mind.
Unfortunately, that brings into question the value of other thoughts that have charted a course through that proverbial scylla and charybdis and been spunked out on these pages. Were they just spilled masturbatory mind seed or truly inspired cogitations. I guess we as the audience are left to our own devices to discern whether these thoughtlets can/should bear fruit or if they should be binned with the toddlers sock into which they were released. You leave us in a quandary. Might be the new avatar. :p

He is q good direct target man for a rainy winter game up north as an option he does give us a diff style/option but expensive as a no 2 striker for the quality we are getting, small upgrade on vj

Saw him against Swansea this weekend. He was terrible. Good in the air but not much else.
