he will say the lads had his head turned. and we all know what goes on behind a clubs back whether right or wrong.
he will say that there has been no offer.
hey mate, seeing as how you have sources/insider info with villa and yet know about this forum/share knowledge here when it pertains to THFC, i assume you're really in touch with the forum scene. Are there any sites/forums like this one, but for Villa? I'd be interested to see what their fans/ITK's are saying about Benteke's potential transfer.

Agree with others in that I don't see this one dragged out over the start of the season and for a big money transfer, I think it will be concluded remarkably quickly - certainly from a media point of view.

I'm quite surprised Arsenal still haven't stepped in yet, they wont get far with Suarez:whistle:

I'm not. They have Giroud. I'm sure they're expecting him to do better this season and I reckon they're after a more agile fox in the box type as opposed to a power house, leading the line type...which Giroud is suppose to sort of be anyway.

That's my opinion anyway.

That's why Suarez is an ideal fit for that side but still can't see that coming to fruition.

Rooney more likely unless Mourinho really goes in hard for him.

If they ended up with Suarez they would be right in the title hunt. Although it would be a perfect marriage in a lot of other ways....:ROFLMAO:

Indeed. Modric, Paulinho, Bent, Bentley, .....all in the 15-17 million bracket, our record fees, never have been conducted on deadline day.

And Berbatov. And it wasn't a similarly large pile of money, but in terms of quality and career-stage, Vertonghen.

There are really two kinds of Levy deals. A good deal that's only available for a short period, while the player is still a bit under the radar, and a deal that isn't a good one until it's the other side has been ground down. Most of our really strategic signings have been the first kind.

It seems like there's a third kind of deal emerging as well - the release clause. I've been impressed with the way we've moved quickly to bring in players like Dembele and Paulinho when the selling club is pretty much taken out of the equation.

I wish we would do it one more time for Ruben Garcia. Ugh, I want him in a Spurs shirt so bad.

Jason Burt ‏@JBurtTelegraph
like i said last week...i think Benteke may take some time to resolve

Jason Burt ‏@JBurtTelegraph
he wants to join #THFC but #AVFC are adamant they won't lower £25-30m valuation. May take some time to resolve..

Chris Hannaway ‏@chrishannaway
@JBurtTelegraph Bernard/Chadli/Lamela?

Jason Burt ‏@JBurtTelegraph
Lamela's on the list. Whether it happens, I'm not sure.

Jason Burt ‏@JBurtTelegraph
I suspect Chadli most likely at this stage..

Chris Hannaway ‏@chrishannaway
@JBurtTelegraph Appears to be Plan A = Villa + Bernard Plan B = Benteke + Chadli...

Jason Burt ‏@JBurtTelegraph
Not quite, I think. There is still an alternative to all of that but don't ask! But I think Villa was certainly wanted..

I can't locate this any more on his time line?

Unless I'm being stupid and missing it; isn't that suggestive of something if it's gone.

Edit: Nvm found, I thought I had gone all Agitha Christie and found something suspicious :(

Come on, why are we taking so long to get this done? The boy wants to come, all we have to do is put up the money before the big boys step in and take him from right under our noses. If he does join us I reckon people will soon realise this lad is better than they actually think. He'll be a star here of that I'm sure. Come on levy, get it done!

I would rather let Levy save the club 3m and cost us a week. He is doing his thing. If it is going to get done, it will. Transfers take time. We are not City or Chelsea; we have limited funds.

Supporters on Villa talk wondering why he finds Spurs a more attractive club than Villa :cautious:

Fans with rose tinted glasses is hardly unusual. I do think for the first time in a long time Villa appear to be moving int he right direction. Lambert has come in with Villa on the wrong side of mediocre, a position that as a club it looked like they were well settled into. They now look to have a clear strategy to bring in young players with a load of upside and completely alter their trajectory. A result of building in this way is that the instant results aren't going to be there and there were times last season it looked like they were going to be in danger of going down. This means that some of the players they've brought in and developed will likely move on to teams who are in a better current position, such as Benteke, but this in turn will help them to continue to progress.
