I think he's been pretty good actually - perhaps not scoring as many goals from open play as before but that's probably because he's playing off the left side more than the centre. I think the front three responsibility is being shared out more between Eriksen, Lamela and whoever else fills the central role (Dembele or more recently Alli) and they - in particular Dele Alli - have been really chipping into our attacking play.

So I think the onus is no longer on Eriksen to be the sole playmaker and perhaps that's why he tends to shine less.

But he's been a key player in many of our goals and it's great to see that we have the likes of Son, Chadli, N'jie all to come off the bench to make their mark.

I wonder if his current form is related to the fact that he and his people still haven't agreed his new contract with the club. Stuff like that can be distracting.

I think that Eriksen has by far the best first touch of any of our players. His ability to receive a ball played at pace while surrounded by a crowd of opposition players is hugely important in making the transition from the type of area where dier, say, might have relatively comfortable possession into threatening attacking positions.

I find it unbelievable how so many people on this forum seem to doubt his ability. Every single game there are at least three or four moments when Eriksen receives the ball and turns towards goal with a level of control and fluency that simply none of our other players can match.

I don't think anyone doubts his ability, he just isn't at his best of late.

Bit better today but seems to be walking when the others are giving everything.

Seems energy less. I just dont think he is used to running around and giving his best.

He was tremendous in first half today. He also has a fantastic touch and our main creator. He faded slightly 2nd half and his replacement contributed far less.

His work rate, movement and anticipation is tremendous. Even when not playing well on the ball he is still key to the way we play simply because he is always available for an out ball or closing down the opposition player before they receive it.

Players with excellent anticipation are often under valued by fans simply because they often nullify events from actually happening rather than look good in stopping an event that has occurred. Carrick was another great example of this.

I thought he was good today. Really strange decision to see him hooked again in the second half, he's a goal threat and a player that is capable of unlocking a defence. I just wish he wasn't such a bloody wimp.

It's not like he isn't buying into the pressing tactics because he is, it's just when the opportunity arises to actually make a challenge after closing someone down he normally bottles it.

Eriksen had a really good game today. I felt we missed something in midfield when he was subbed.
Lets hope he can build on this performance.

I absolutely love him and he has been one of our best players since he joined, but I fear he will become the VdV of Poch's squad and may even be sold in the future - I hope not but I sense it could happen. Our play under Poch appears to show an inclination of that happening, i.e selling a flair player for a hard worker.

Pleased to see him more involved today, there were signs of him getting back to form. If he starts to hit form now for the second have of the season it will be a great boost for the team ... we could do with some of his free kick goals if nothing else!

Don't worry, Poch knows the balance.. Holtby was hardworking, but he's not in the plan.. Even Verts is considered flair IMO, depending on how Toby is.. Key is the complementary effect players are rubbing off one another..

And one thing I'm very sure for this team we have is we are not becoming Stoke or Watford.. The closest we are getting to is Germany national team; superb goal keeper, solid back four, hardworking midfield capable of scoring when needed and no-nonsense striker.. And we know they became champions..

I don't think Eriksen is a flair player whatsoever. He doesn't have the pace to dribble around players or use fancy skills.
He is a technically strong, fairly 2 footed player, who is alright at chipping in with goals and is a danger on free kicks.
He never really plays through balls or dictates a game in the center.

I wished Poch played him in his favoured position, looks so much better when he plays central.

I also wished we could know why he is being taken off so often, last season he scored so many late goals for us
