Thinking about Eriksen this morning and though I haven't watched any Dutch football, I have a feeling he'll be used to playing against packed defences, teams setup literally to try and not conceed and sore on the counter as Ajax are just that much better than them. Another option for those teams that setup similar in the PL.

From what I've seen of the Dutch league there's actually loads of space and plenty of counter attacks, plus not the same number of huge speedy CB's that he'll face in the PL

I think getting Eriksen instead of Willian will turn out to be a real blessing in disguise. I just didn't get the Willian thing whilst Eriksen looks like he has that little something that will really compliment what we have already built.

Could turn out to be a fantastic piece of business after dodging a bullet.

There is little news on his coverage ..... I am begining to worry.

Relax, De Boer basically confirmed the deal last night. The delay all points to a triple announcement I reckon, if not then Eriksen will be the last to be announced out of the 3.

At least people spotted Chriches & Lamela.... we dont even have idea if Eriksen is in London.:cautious:

tbf when a player signs a contract it's read through by him, his agent and generally a legal representative. It's not a 2 pager it's a complex and lengthy legal document and will contain everything from standard T's and C's to detailed bonus structures, tax implications and a myriad of other things. Plus on the THFC side it will generally be Levy or a trusted exec/legal counsel going through it with them. I'd also guess Franco would be there with soothing and encouraging words. That must take time and for it to happen for three players in one afternoon / evening is going to be a bit of a stretch - especially if the player wants to take the contract away and read through properly. It's not as if we had three rooms next to each other, each with a table, a spurs rep one side and the player the other and a big jar of biro's in the middle.

That's going to be the delay, or at least, that's how I've rationalised the delay to myself this morning.

Am I right in thinking ($hogun help me out here) that as long as a player is registered before a certain time on the Friday before a match they can be included in the squad for that weekend?

12.00 or 12.30 today mate (I forget which), and that is registered with the PL and FA not necessarily announced.

Not forgetting Sandro on stand by should Levy need to force encourage the signings though :D

I wonder if Ajax would want carrol on loan in return - save them panic buying a replacement and great development for tommy

Ajax would suit him. Passing team, highly technical and play 4-3-3 plus some of the best coaches for young players in the world. However, and don't slate me for this, maybe going to Palace on loan and having a full season in the PL running their midfield would be even better for him.

Might be a need to wait for a Work Permit for Lamela. Eriksen and Vlad should be OK if registered in time though.

Erik has a Spanish passport I believe so no holdup for work permit with him. I think club are just trying to engineer a triple announcement.

They are obviously having their induction. They are in a room reading the staff handbook, followed by a powerpoint presentation, anti-Arsenal indoctrination from a guest hypnotist and a tour of the facilities during which the fire exits will be pointed out. The new training centre is quite large and it is easy to forget where the spare paperclips and staples are kept so thoroughness is key.

I think the Goat mentioned that this has actually been completed but Vlad was a bit slow on the uptake so they had to go through over some of it again.
