Anyone know if the Eriksen to Liverpool links are true or have any actual substance behind them?

Advanced talks. Player interested. Trying to agree a fee. Trying to do what we did with Sturridge and have him signed before window opens. Been trying to sign him since last summer and Jan.

Made it clear he won't sign for anyone where he isn't in the starting 11 as Man City and PSG were/are interested.

Few other clubs interested, told a lot of competition so even though it seems Liverpool is a good bet, we could easily get gazumped last minute when teams guarantee CL football. Will cost at least £15-16m told.

Not been told if Spurs are involved, just Man City, PSG and possibly Utd, but like I said, he is adamant he must be guaranteed to be a starter or he won't sign.

Our very best ITK told me this yesterday so I'm happy its credible enough to share here.

Yep, but I reckon Ajax will be desperate to keep him, what with Ekisen/Alderweireld looking like they might depart.

Alderweireld definitely off. Liverpool one of 3 Prem clubs interested (although our 1st choice CB is Ashley Williams for some reason), so I know he's definitely off.

Cool, just that heard from that Indykalia guy on twitter (i know not reliable but cant help myself) talk about Pool being in best position and his reps speaking to them

Don't listen to him mate he's been exposed by another fan on Twitter as a fraud who sells broadband for Sky (why he has on his profile that he works "for a leading Sports broadcaster") in India. This is why his grammar and spelling are so poor, which is what give him away.

So he played as part of the midfield 3 in a 433?

I've always seen him as more of an wide forward of no.10.

No, he's usually in midfield. Ajax have a very attacking minded strategy, especially when Poulsen sits on the bench and Schone is the other midfield player next to Eriksen and Siem de Jong.

Daley Blind was voted MOTM by the Dutch viewers, but Ajax will probably allow him to move on if a serious bid comes in.

Boilesen is back to fitness and was the 1st choice LB until he severly injured himself and there are also Dijks (regarded as the best defender in NextGen last season) and Koppers (now on loan at ADO).

No he won't mind joining them. He has tanked up a lot of confidence this past year and think he has a better chance now of being in the starting 11 for those clubs.

guaranteed starter??

He's not that good to demand that

We should bid for Maher instead if we want a player of that characteristics

I would sign a striker, a left back and a winger instead.
Mertens for the winger spot

I dont think he's demanding guaranteed starts, I think it's more of a case of him wanting to play a decent amount of first team football, and not just grabbing the big money at for example City/PSG. Being only 21, and moving to a club that can literally buy anyone they want , at any time, could be bad career move at his young age.

i'd guarantee him a start at aml(assuming bale is still here). sigurdsson and dempsey will never be the answer there.

If we are really not in for him and Liverpool are the one leading the pack then it makes me think back to last window when there was that rummer circulating that AVB just doesn't like the lad. Interesting considering he is one of the biggest young prospects that, if the Liverpool itk is to be believed, would settle for a club outside CL if it ment first team football. Maybe the gods at Spurs see Son as the more useful player as they would potentially be playing in a similar position AML... Ether way it would be depressing to see him go to pool who would be looking quite good with Coutinio and Eriksen in attack

to be honest, i'm not sure what avb thinks really counts a whole lot when it comes to transfer targets ...

You're looking pretty suspicious there, yourself! :cautious:

I agree, but maybe that's the way AVB prefers it. He has the title Head Coach, which would suggest we're trying a more continental style of running things, in which the 'Head Coach' just coaches, and lets a Director of Football (in our case Levy lol) identify targets. I saw an interview with a highly respected Manager/Head Coach (cant remember who) recently and he said something along the lines of "My title is Head Coach, because I like to coach the team, I dont like to get involved in the other stuff", maybe AVB prefers just to 'coach' as well. I do think AVB has an input in transfers however, but obviously others are having an input too.

I think u are right about this but something is clearly not working 100% with this system, I only hope we get a real DOF and not rely on Levy thinking he is a magician each window, pulling off "inspired" low budget buys

No his agent is saying (similar to Sturridge's saying he had to play every game and it had to be central until BR told him to get fucked) that he is only interested in clubs where he is considered a first 11 starter most games I'm told.

How far that attitude of his and/or his Agents will get him I don't know. We'll see.

We are very much in the race. we have been for 2 years.

Not saying he will sign for Spurs, but we certainly wont sit back and watch him sign elsewhere without a fight

If anyone is interested, Ajax are playing Heerenveen tonight at 7 I believe in case instead of going to the pub you fancy checking this kid out who may end up not signing for us anyway... But at least we can dream.

Yeah, I will be watching and provide a summary of his play later. I'll probably break it down as it happens.

I wish they were playing Vitesse as I'd love to get to watch Bony go up against Alderweireld again.
