Eriksen and the Ajax squad were in Centerparcs this weekend to attend the Ajax clinics with hundreds of kids. They look pretty exhausted afterwards so I can't see him travelling today.

For his agents to be at the game however makes sense considering both clubs are after him.

Hmm, whether true or not it does streangthen the rummers about him going to pool, even if that is purely by the absence of Spurs. I would be very surprised if Eriksen came to England A) without his agent and B) without any contact with perspective clubs. From what I can make out from the few Spurscentric website about I haven't seen any ITK about him or his representatives coming and talking to Spurs whilst he has been in the country which I would have thought would have been prime time for a player looking to move ASAP. Maybe I am reading way to much Into nothing, maybe I am just board and am desperate for some early transfer movement..... Or maybe not.

Good player, yes. Do we need him? Not really. Do I want him? Yeah, sure.

Should we guarantee him a starting spot? Hell no. AVB would never do that, and no manager ever should with a player his age and with his inconsistencies. AVB has stated time and time again that playing time will be earned. Lloris is a top 5 GK in the world and it took him how long to replace Friedel?

If Eriksen has the ability, he will play. But to expect to come into a club vying for Champions League and expect to waltz into the starting lineup, that's a bit lofty of expectations. Chances are he would be a starter for us, and a damned good one, but only after it was earned.

I understand guys wanting to line up moves where they won't sit on the bench and rot while their formative years go to waste. Which is why I don't understand why more attacking midfielders and wide forwards keep going to Chelsea despite bundles of cash. But, every player is plenty capable of looking at a team's roster and determining for themselves how they might fit in, and if they can't, I'm sure a manager can always tell them how they would fit in should they come to their respective club.

Having the self-confidence to earn a spot is a lot more important than attempting to line up a move that will see you handed the spot on your laurels from another county, another league and a league in which is far inferior to the one you're going to.

So much for him wanting CL football then!

If that's the case, he's simply amongst the majority of players who would take silly money over CL footy. And we know if Liverpool really want him they'd offer him better terms than Spurs.

Not sure if that is true anymore. Pool put themselves in a deep hole and we showed with Gylfi we can offer improved terms

I'm not sure we need a player like Eriksen at the moment. To me, he is very similar to Holtby. I think a back up winger and star striker are our most pressing needs. Beyond that, we need a replacement for the aging Gallas, as well as for Parker. Judging by rumours, BAE may be on his way out, so a LB may be a priority if Rose isn't in AVB's plans. I would be very surprised if we got Eriksen given our situation.

With Gotze off at Dortmund :'( , I feel like Eriksen needs to add them to the list. He would fit in very well there.

It would be a good fit although Götze is maybe a little more attacking a player and better. Although it would be nice to see Eriksen at Spurs I don't know if he is really what we need at the moment. Spending 18 mil on him might just be a little to frivolous when I think we really need a new striker, winger and left back as priority. So if he does leave this summer and not to Spurs, rather it be BVB then Liverpool.

He has been strongly linked and would be a good move for all parties, not too fussed if we sign him tbh

There is no doubt he is an excellent player. However, I want someone who can add the extraodinary, the outrageous, that bit of skill we crave for.... He is a really good player, but can he offer something really really different?

He's a pretty brilliant creative talent on his day. He has the vision in the pass, on the ball and actually the talent to pull it off.

True, but very erratic - something which was pointed out by some Danish Spurs fans on here and also something Eriksen's admitted himself. I think the Bundesliga could be a wise move by him.
