Interview after match today, apparently said that BVB would fit him very well and would be a good choice.. probably not coming to us

No he was asked about the interest from Dortmund and said that they were a great club as Ajax have met them in the group stage of the Champions League.

He's not ruling anything out and has also said that he wouldn't say no to Man City and PSG just because they have large squads.

It all depends on which clubs are showing genuine interest. There were supposedly a lot of clubs also in for Vertonghen, in the end the only club he turned down were Arsenal and he went on to sign for Spurs.

think the idea 'every year of champions league' is still more appealing than our situation.

If he goes to Dortmund he will probably see them as another stepping stone as he's only 21. He wants to end up at Barca someday in his career.

He's a pretty brilliant creative talent on his day. He has the vision in the pass, on the ball and actually the talent to pull it off.

Maybe I didn't communicate it well. I'd personally like someone with the additional bit of individual skill to create a goal from nothing. Yes, brilliant that he can pick a pass and thread something through the eye of the needle, but that relies on the receiver being equally switched on. That's great team play. Maybe with the right players around him Holtby could turn into that? That's a big 'could' by the way!

Oh to have Gazza back.... :censored:

Dortmund want him to replace Gotze

Eriksen has been the star of a very good Ajax side this season, could play for any team in the world no problem

On another note I can see Frank de Boer in the Barcelona hot seat very soon

An Ajax (and Spurs) supporting mate of mine - whose opinion on football I trust entirely - isn't even sure he's the right player for us. Says he's talented, but his main complaint is that he too often disappears in games, even at Eredivisie level.
I quite like what I've seen, but if he wants to go to Dortmund then good luck to him and it's not the end of the world for us.

Watched him a couple of times and he did not impress nor unimpressed me - he looked like a steady eddy. Was good against City in CL. We need a 'Coutinho' (love this lad) type of player badly. Is Eriksen this guy?

Not in my opinion Steve. Better at pulling the strings from deeper, rather than Coutinho, who seems to flourish more around the opponent's box.

I think we need both. We need a deeper 'string puller' to fill the gaping Modric shaped hole that is in our midfield, hence why AVB wanted Moutinho. Also think we need a dynamic, goal scoring number 10 type player, Ideally right footed to compliment Bale, hence why AVB wanted Willian before we were priced out.

I'm not sure Erikson fits the bill for either, although admittedly I haven't seen him play too many times.

Oops sorry for tve disagree, iphone -.-

In dortmund forums hes the favourite götze replacement and their itk's claim its a done deal.

No problem. I wonder if the other people, who rated my post doh and creative, have actually seen him play other than the City CL game? Being Danish myself I have followed him quite closely and I just don't see him ever being a world class player.

I wonder if their ITKs are more efficient than ours. They do one post a month, it's straight to the point, nothing cryptic and always right. :D

Frank De Boer - " Clubs do not know much about football if no bids come in for Christian this summer "

Looks like resigned to losing him and wants a public auction, if that the case then no chance he'll be signing for us.

Just hope he goes to Dortmund and not Liverpool, if he goes to Liverpool he'll be a huge success there

Coutinho is too similar, doubt they'll be after another player of the same style and age who plays the same position.

Eriksen plays a lot deeper than Coutinho, can see him alongside Lucas, but would prefer him alongside Sandro

Anytime I've seen him he's been on the left of a front 3 or one of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1. Wouldn't trust his defensive skills as part of a 2-man midfield anyway.
