I bet he’s not looking forward to lining up for Utd and having to face Bentancur and Bissouma… will be like when Winks met Doucoure ???

I'm actually surprised, I don't really know what they can do for him and even if he wanted something new I'm sure there would've been other CL clubs in for him.

Feel sorry for Brentford ..

I also hope we don’t regret this decision not to go for him, much will depend on the rest of our business.

Gutted. Going to hate seeing him play and win games for them.

Weird to be seeing one of my favourite Spurs players end up there when both clubs seem to be headed in totally different directions.

Guessing with the FDJ deal on the ropes they've probably offered him a near guaranteed starting role and a hefty pay packet (likely similar to what Pogba was on). I guess for the role we'd have for him we just couldn't justify the costs involved. 3 years at £300kpw would be £46m outlay for example.

I’m just convinced Conte will drop HK into the AM role should it be required. I would imagine once we knew Richarlison was sealed, we backed off trying to sign Eriksen.

I think it's as simple as clicking with Ten Hag when he trained with Ajax and he's feels that the rebuilding of one of the 3 biggest clubs in the world is an exciting project. Good luck to him, I thought that ours would be more enticing but there we are, though saying that it sounds like we wanted to go a different direction and I'm waiting to see why.

Finally put this rubbish about 'home' and 'emotional stories' to bed, just another footballer lads.

He's never been attached to our club, the way he dealt with his last exit showed that. I know this is the reality for the majority of players, but he always seemed particularly cold and disengaged, it's probably just the way he is as a person tbh but people need to stop kidding themselves that he has any real connection for the club.

Ah that fucking sucks. Can't blame him at all, but just shit to see him go to United of all clubs.

He'll do well there and get more game-time than he would at Spurs. Hope he doesn't do too well, though.

Scenes when ETH lines up with Fernandes, Eriksen, De Beek and FDJ in midfield next season. Hot knife through butter.

It's United I bet they have offered him an absolute fortune and given him a three year deal.

He would be mad to stay at Brentford.

I don't mind him not rejoining Spurs, I felt it was sentimental and not quite what we needed. But I am frustrated he's joining United.

gutted... but I fully expected this once it was reported we cooled our interest

Tells me that Utd are getting desperate and most likely caved into his and his agents demands on the backdrop that the de Jong deal looks increasingly unlikely.

Obviously would have preferred his destination to be Brentford but can understand Utd still has the lure about them which Eriksen wants to experience however i'm certainly not as sentimental about Eriksen as some here.

I love him but we had the best of him already imo. We play a lot differently now than we did back then.

Shame for Brentford really!

I'm surprised he didn't show more desire to come back so not fussed he didn't come. If he doesn't want to come back when we're making these great signings and back in the CL then so be it. I always felt he was a good signing for the individual qualities but not the perfect fit for our formation. I know we can switch to 352 but 343 works well as long we have 2 quality central midfielders which we now have with Bentancur and Bissouma joining Hojbjerg and Skipp. Besides 3 of those 4 will work well in a midfield 3 and I also fancy Deki can play right side in midfield 3 too.
