didn't really expect him to join once it all went quiet but clearly not gone there for football reasons (outside of the CV update obviously) as they're an absolute mess. Maybe fancied playing with CR7, who knows. Thought he'd have stayed at brentford tbh, seemed a great fit.

The club, by all credible accounts, left the guy on read.

Expecting him to not sign for United in deference to the club that passed on the chance to sign him is odd.

Reminds me of entitled exes thinking they have a stake in former partners' future relationships.

Shame - would have loved him back and will be horrible to see him in United's colours. Can't really blame him...

Hope he does well. Hope they don't.

Ironically he has better chances of regular playing time at United than at Spurs... I guess it shows we have moved forward and United backwards :) ... (and he knows the Ajax-system)

Everyone out there remember he came to us with a career plan. We were a stepping stone and in his last 6 months + he kinda sucked.
Neg rep away. I'm not bitter, it's his job and after his scare he has to do what he feels is best for his family long term.

Not going to slag Eriksen off and pretend he doesn't care for the club as i do feel he does. Cannot blame him for not coming here when it's clear we dropped our interest.

Just feel its a bit of a shame after what happened he has gone to United. They are a circus of a club and nowhere near competing for honours. Can't knock him for going where he will get the most cash but thought he may want to do something that meant more personally to him such as Ajax or stay at Brentford.

On a side note, ETH doesn't seem to understand what he will need to compete in the PL. His targets are all technical and lack any form of physicality. This may change but have a feeling United are going to be so soft next season.

Will really hurt to see him in a United shirt. Happy for him of course, just wish we were bringing him home.

I know a couple of Brentford fans who'll be gutted. They were pinning their hopes on Spurs not wanting him and Sabrina wanting to stay in London.

If we have another creative, technical midfielder lined up, then fine.

If we don't, then I've absolutely no idea why we haven't gone for this. Makes so much sense on every level.

Gutted he's gone to UTD.

Would have loved him as an option here - certainly haven't been publicly linked to a creative passer anywhere near as good as him. And definitely not on a free.

Yeah as good as his Ajax team were in the CL the PL is a totally different beast week in, week out. If you don't have enough steel you can get caught out against the lesser sides, especially away from home. They certainly have a lot of talent in AM/WF areas but they have a massive problem at ST with Ronaldo and the defence and CM needs a lot of work.

Not really fussed tbh, he obviously has his reasons for choosing that mob. Not gonna shed a tear, just as I didn’t when he decided he wanted out the last time. Don’t really like that he signed with them though

We can’t be annoyed, we clearly didn’t want him (well not for the price he wanted anyway) so where he goes then is up to him.

United’s midfield is so lightweight now though. Think Ten Hag is in for a shock

Disappointed but wish him all the best.

I'll trust Conte on this one. However I will be disappointed if we are done offensively in the transfer market.

Start of the summer I was really onboard with him potentially coming back, but the way it dragged on, I’d long since come to the conclusion the deal was off the table. Given how our reshape is heading, I’m not overly disappointed. I think we’ll end up with a fairly high profile RWF who can drop inside to the No10 role like Kulusevski, my thoughts are Zainolo or Paqueta currently, but equally I have a gut feeling we may make a play for Dembele if he’s still available once we move on the likes of Bergwijn, Lo Celso and maybe even Moura. A case of sliding doors. If Barca can’t afford Raphinha, the Chelsea will possibly go for him or Dembele, assuming they also go for Sterling.

RWF. Kulusevski, Zainolo/Paqueta/Dembele

LWF. Son, Richarlison

CF. Kane, (Parrott if he has a good pre season)

5/6 players to cover 3 starting spots across multiple competitions (hopefully). Son & Richarlison more secondary CF options, Kulusevski et al more suited to dropping infield to create a 352/3412 when required.

He most likely will sign for United, but the report does say he's 'verbally agreed to join United' and we all know for Eriksen that doesn't mean much...

Also, United aren't going to be as bad as people are making out this season, especially if they get rid of Ronaldo and bring in someone like Osimhen alongside Frenkie de Jong, Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez etc.

Will be an adaptation period with ten Hag of course but there's the start of a really good team there. Us getting top 4 isn't completely inevitable like people are assuming unless we sign a couple more top quality starting players now.

I’d assume he made a connection with ten Hag post heartattack, when he was given the chance to train there at Ajax. Personally I’m happy for him. I didn’t really want him back unless there was no other creative option, as I’m not a massive fan of returning players in general, and his last six months I was so fed up with him. That’s not to say I wouldn’t have loved it from a sentimental perspective. I figure there’s a reason we cooled our interest, too. As to it being United, honestly, that doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I’m just glad it’s not arse or Chelsea.
