No way Denmark don’t select him if he’s fit IMO.
This could well be the last crack he gets with a CL club, lots of friends still at the club, must be a very tempting offer.

And others rumoured to have upset his apple cart now gone

Manchester United have entered the race to sign Christian Eriksen on a free transfer, according to a report.

The Mirror claim Erik ten Hag is lining up a move for the Dane, who is a legend at his former club Ajax.

Eriksen joined Brentford after his defibrilator, installed his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, meant he could no longer play for Inter.

And he was the Bees' star man after his January move, inspiring them to a strong 13th-placed finish.

He only penned a six month deal though and Tottenham were said to be keen on re-signing him.

But it's now claimed United are interested and see him as a live option.

Not sure about United. I could see the appeal of having a fresh challenge at a different top club, but if he's not going to stay at Brentford I'd be surprised if goes to a team that isn't in the Champions League. Still question marks over the state of the dressing room there too.

Not the slightest worried that he'll go there. With no CL, I think he'll rather stay at Brentford.

ten Hag has never managed Eriksen ;)
Whilst ten hag has never managed eriksen I do believe when eriksen was recovering from his MI he spent time training at ajax before signing for Brentford.

I always take stories about Man Utd being in for a player with a pinch ever since the sports writer (can't remember, a few years ago) said that on a Sunday they'd decide which player they would link Utd to and then spend the next two weeks reporting on the denials/interviewing ex-players about why it would be a good move, before re-doing the whole thing again with another player.

A lot of the Eriksen takes around him and Brentford could easily be applied to countless of our players past and present. Yet we always demand they stay?

Football is a sentimental sport. Eriksen may well stay at Brenford, where he is doing well, playing football and enjoying himself over going to a club where the is a lot more pressure and competition. Obviously he could.

He could also easily go to Man Utd, even if they aren't in the CL, it's a big name and a lot of CL clubs, including ours, probably he wouldn't be starting most games.

I think after all that's happened maybe his principle motivation might be to enjoy himself and his football, not competing at the top level. For what exactly?

Considerations for Eriksen: Where to live with his family - we heard he liked the idea of Spain. Loyalty to Brentford who gave him a chance. Champions League football which he has confirmed he would want. A very emotional return to Spurs, Conte and a squad a knows so well.

Lots of considerations, but what on earth could Man United tempt him with? Only money and I can’t see that being so important for Eriksen

My mistake - ex manager at his boyhood club who was probably interested in him. Still a lazy guesswork link for me.

You would think this gets sorted sooner rather than later. Get the pen out. Bring him home levy. And fuck Kane off-the-free kicks.

You can't play Eriksen and Fernandes in the same midfield. If United went in for him I'd say it shows their recruitment is still a shambles.

Think this could happen. He'd get more game time at United and bigger wages than he would at Spurs. They could really build a team around him up there which we would never do under Conte.
