Not sure why anyone is convinced that money is the primary reason he is going there. Playing time on the best side you can possibly play for is a pretty big motivator in a world cup year.

The guy nearly died a year ago. He can play for who he likes and it won't bother me, because I'm just happy to see him kicking a ball at a high level.

Ten Hag also let him train with Ajax prior to the Brentford move, so it may not necessarily be about money primarily.

Hope he does well, except against us, but still gets a good reception at the Lane.

United are going to be so soft next season. Their pre seaso results are great for the rest of the league imo.
Make them feel they are getting somewhere before teams actually try against them.

Not bothered by this one bit, he was poor for us towards the end, wanted out. Never wanted him back

It's a bit sad some fans have taken to being nobheads about him Twitter.

Played for us for 6 years, was a very key player in what was an incredibly memorable and enjoyable period. And he nearly died.

He gets nothing but well wishes from me

If we get Maddison or someone similar then not bothered, but he's one of my fave all time Spurs players so would've loved to have him back but alas wish him well at Utd (except against us) and he'll get a huge reception when he's back at the Lane.

Would loved to have had him back on a free but when looking at a list of FP purchases since he came in they are nearly all 25 or under.

I suspect we are looking at Maddison, Paqueta etc for this reason.

i was gutted about 3 weeks ago when it was clear he wasn’t signing for us. Now I want Bissouma to smash him up. Was never a Conte signing. He might run a lot but his inability to actually tackle and get stuck in isn’t conte. He never really wanted him at inter. I watched a few Italiano match of the days and they always said the Same thing. Good health to the guy. Not a player I could gel with on a fan base way. United are Stock pilling cm lol.

Looks like a good move for him and for United. He's plenty to offer, and I guess he'll get far more starts at United than with us.
I obviously hope United have a relentlessly dreadful season. However, I hope Eriksen does well there like he did at Brentford. It's quite a story to be honest. Almost died on the field, but is now likely to be a key player for Man U.

And I can see why he wasn't in Conte's plans. Was hard to see where he'd fit in other than an option from the bench.

I'm sure it was more the fact we didn't want him rather than him choosing United over us so therefore I have no hostilities towards him. I'm also sure we are moving on to bigger and better things with all due respect to Christian.

I’m actually a bit shocked at how angry and annoyed some are with this.
Bloke had 2 offers. Brentford and Man Utd….it’s not even a close decision where you pick in those circumstances

On the internet if you want to find an opinion you don't like, you'll find it somewhere.

Over a month ago I believe our ITKs were saying Conte didn't want him.

He has decided to play for a big club who have a manager that he appears to have a good relationship with.

Money talks.

He’s obviously been attracted by the pay day and length of the contract.

It can’t be about the football ambition.

You know he's gone to Man U and not the MLS or Qatar?

I think they'll do ok this year. It hardly took Conte long to turn us around from probably the most toxic and disheartening time I've known as a fan.

From Flemming Toft, one of the most respected football journalists i Denmark:

Maybe that was not what he wanted.

He had a dream of staying in London with his family - and he had a dream, a desire, to play in the Champions League when he had to sign a new contract. It obviously required a born participant. And should it match the desire to stay in London, then only Tottenham, his old club, was on the agenda. Whether it was by anything other than headlines, I do not know, but the interest of Antonio Conte, his old coach at Inter, was not as clear as the dream of the big reunion - player, club and manager.

He gave us great service other than the last few months where he and everyone else were very poor.
He also bloody died on the pitch. It was one of the most awful things I've seen watching football. I'm just so glad he's able to play still and seems healthy.
It's clear He has a good relationship with ETH so I can't blame him at all. He's got to do what feels right for him.

Personally, and this may come back to bite me, I'm just not concerned about man utd either. I think we're so much stronger than them now.

I would have liked him back, but then I would have been happy with Joao Palhinha and we went and got Yves Bissouma! Would have been fine with Emanuel Dennis and we went and got Richarlison! It remains to be seen who we go after instead of Eriksen, but whoever it is, I think it will be exciting. If the rumours about Maddison/Paqueta are true, that'll do for me.
