I take it those who are saying he's well passed it never actually watched him last season? He was as excellent as ever and is in superb condition too. Just because he's 36 doesn't mean he wouldn't be a good signing for a year or two. Normally it's better to watch a player play before completely writing his ability off...

I agree. I'm starting to think this is going to be part of a master stroke by Levy.

Milan are letting him go for a reason, we dont need their cast offs

Pirlo went because he was unhappy with the amount of minutes he got and because he was unsatisfied with the terms of the extending contract, same reasons apply for both Seedorf and van Bommel.

deselina - thank you.

Is Sneijder having a pop at Rafa VDV here?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jun/13/euro-2012-wesley-sneijder-pathetic-egos

Or is it more complicated?

Kuyt most likely, he was the one Telegraaf were reporting about.

VDV and Sneijder are besties they will never disrespect eachother. Problem was probably Afellay this tournament. Everything went fine without him during qualifying, but Bert decided to gamble on an unfit player and disrupted the team.

Would make a good senior mid-field signing and am all in for it if true.

sign him up and make him coach end of the season .. still a super player that will help without doubt in both on field and off

I knew that a lot of people would disagree. In general, english people see Parker, Gerrard, Lampard as players they never will part company with. I am looking more long term here, and I know that there are a lot of good replacements for Parker out there. Sell Parker to a club with a mainstream opinion, and we can do the business right and find some great players at a bargain.

This, he is still a very good player and we can make him a coach immediately whilst he is still playing, if what I hope happens actually happens because I am completely sold on De Boer.

I don't really see the logic in that SK. Parker came in and did an excellent job for us in his first season. It's not like he has been here for the majority of his career like the other two players you have mentioned and his performances for us were a big part of our side last season. Not sure how replacing Parker with Seedorf can be described as looking more long term and why would we need to sign a player on a bargain 'fee' when we have a player in our squad who is a bargain 'free'. See what I did there?

So Sneijder wants to do exactly what Harry Redknapp said they should do. He is good that fella, triffic I would say.
