Can this dude play as a wide forward so we can cram him and Kane both into the team?

He will get my full backing if he joins as does everyone that gives their all for the shirt. There looks to be a player in there. That pace is frightening, should create different openings that currently with our lack of pace we cant do. COYS! Messi next.

Daniel Levy is quite something. Aulas actually said he thanks Levy for his offer for N'jie. This was after they fell out of Lloris.

Levy must have this hypnotic Jedi mind control over people.

Exactly what I thought, until I saw this comment.

Aulas: "I want to thank Daniel Levy for having a coherent offer. Things can change from one moment to the next."

Which basically means...

"I'd like to thank Daniel for not being a complete arsehole this time. He fucked me right over a few years ago. I still don't trust him. I can't sleep."

Probably written Aulas a check for £15m...only the '1' is in disappearing ink.

I posted the other day that on the numbers, N'Jie is a very good prospect.
Here's another article by someone else (may have been posted before, I dunno) that blends the numbers with actual videos evidence of both the good and bad of Clinton N'Jie:

Well worth your time

Good read that and pretty much sums up my early and limited evidenced opinion of N'Jie too. This what I said a few days ago:

I've probably only seen him play a handful of times and I don't know what price is being bandied about but he's a lively fucker that's for sure. He's got pace, decent technique, can use both feet, but what I like best about the bits I've seen is, he also gets his head up and creates things for others amidst the mayhem of the box. Played primarily as a wide forward on either side I think. Still very raw and with that some eratic-ness - nature of the position too.

The one thing I would say though is that someone posted the comparison matrix for him, Werner, Berahino & Martial and though the guy in your piece says he doesn't make many key passes or create chances, his numbers per 90 were very superior to all those three.

But one thing we absolutely must not forget is he was playing with some of the best young players in Europe for a really good team that very much suited his game. I would imagine having Lacazette as your striker is going to improve any attacking players assist rate, and Fekir is really good too.

I've always thought that Aulas only said what he did to save a bit of face with the fans over losing Lloris for such a low fee. If he was genuinely that pissed off with Levy, I don't think he would have sold us Lloris.

Fekir is class and still really young. He's going up be huge in a couple of years.

Yeah, that comparison would check out. Werner's numbers weren't all that last year, Martial had very low shot creation numbers and I think we both agree that on the creative side of things Berahino is a bit Defoe. I guess it depends what your benchmark is. N'Jie is still at the potential stage, it's just that like someone like Kane he has a season under his belt that had very tangible returns. So you'd presume that whilst not the finished article, you are buying a player to play, not just clog up the bench.

As regard chance creation, here's his key pass/90 rate against the original list of players I put up by way of comparison:
oTUPZFm.png

At the lower end across these guys but broadly comparable to say Anderson or Fekir for rate. In fact, and I agree Fekir is very good, and probably a better prospect, his numbers look very similar, with allowances for the difference in the positions they occupied.

Playing with some of the best young players in Europe? Mr N'Jie, meet Mr Eriksen, Kane and Lamela :)
