It's really interesting with that article stating Lyon sources think we're paying over the odds despite his massive potential, surely £12 million for an already good, but potentially great player is a really good price for us? is it just because we're so used to potentially great players going for so much more and perhaps in France they go for less? because no matter which way its sliced £12 million seems like a really good deal for an already good player that could hopefully one day be great

Not really, Lyon had to sell Lloris because they needed the money, everybody knew Lloris was worth more.
Every Lyon fan will tell you 12M£ for Njie is a lot. He's really not that good, he has to improve a lot. He's quick, and that's about it atm. He improved at the end of last season tho, we'll see if he keeps going.

L'Equipe is now saying he signed today, for 5 years and 180k per month.

Absent from training Olympique Lyonnais on Thursday morning , the attacker Clinton Njie ( 21 ) flew at the same time for London. In the afternoon , the Cameroon international has spent the early part of his medical with Tottenham who found an agreement on Monday with OL for a transfer which the allowance is 14 M € (+ 3M € bonus ) .

After completing the medical examination , it should commit Friday for five seasons with the Spurs. The London club hoped to formalize its transfer very quickly in order to align to receipt of Stoke City Saturday ( 16.00) . But it is unlikely that Njie gets his work permit by then . His signature in the Premier League will , in any case, allow him to multiply his salary by six (from 30 000 euros gross monthly to 180,000 ) .
