Hate us and not enjoying it...............Glutton for punishment? Or is it something sinister? If you are being held captive by aliens hidden in the wallpaper who are pointing lasers at you or do you have a Dalek stuck up your bumhole with his 'probe' controlling you and they are forcing you on here, if so, blink twice :geek:
If you think it's just a problem on here then think again. The entire fanbase is toxic and divisive. I come on here because the rest of my life and my health is utter crap and this used to be a good escape where I got more information on Tottenham (one of my biggest loves) than anywhere else. The way some go on it's like you're not allowed to feel positive about the club.

I always enjoy a good natured discussion about anything, because I am open minded. How often does that happen without it resorting to childish insults just because someone has a differing opinion nowadays? It has become tedious reading through threads and it's even harder to say anything without being jumped on. Take giving credit to Arsenal for the good they have done this season.. low and behold I am twerking for them. What the fuck is that?

You can laugh at me for feeling this way. You can joke about it. You can give me negatve ratings. I don't give a fuck anymore. I just want to enjoy reading about our next manager, our transfers and see how the new set up does.

Daniel Levy is a very good chairman, has overseen achievements we previously could only dream of (a champions league final!), and clearly cares about the club winning trophies and succeeding on the pitch.

The fans that boo and jeer him are morons who just need to let their frustration out at someone. It’s possible to work very hard, care deeply, and fail. The Premier League is a competition with only one winner that has five richer clubs than us; we will fail most of the time. Get over it and get behind the club, including its chairman. It’s not like Levy has walked away and let the club rot after failing for a few years, which many other owners have done. He has persisted for over 20 years. I think that says a lot.

16,000% ROI will help soften the blow....

The only difference between Poch and other "successful" Spurs managers during Levy's reign is that Harry Kane, the greatest striker in Prem history, came through our academy, so he was gifted a once in a life time player. Other than that, all the praise he gets are people being selective in order to keep up the fantasy that there is more to this than having good players. I love Poch, but swap Kane for any of our best strikers under Jol, Redknapp and AVB (and we had some very good one's) and we are just as good. Swap Kane for Adebayor in 2011/12 or Crouch in 2009/10 and we finish in the top 3. If Jol had Kane in 2005/6, then we easily finish in the top 4 with a cheap team, that had the 9th highest wages, but in a much, much better league. There is zero chance of Leicester winning the league with a prime Mourinho Chelsea, an SAF Utd and Henry/Wenger Arsenal.

White Hart Lane was better than the new stadium for supporters.

Yeah. It felt like something broke with the club when we left White Hart Lane.

Leaving WHL was like severing the last vestiges of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. Football is only a part of it now- a sideshow really. One income stream among many. Like the concerts and American Football, it's just another way to get punters in through the door.

I'm not under any illusions. The game has long been all about money. But the Tottenham Hotspur matchday experience is now flagrantly about extracting as much cash from customers as possible.

No, I don't think it's just a problem on here but it's on here that you're complaining about and it's not going to get better any time soon. If you don't like it to the point where you're having the same rant a few times over and it's making you miserable, then either vote with your feet or ry unburdening yourself in one of the help threads where a sympathetic ear is always about. Surely, if you hate Spurs fans and don't enjoy SC, the best thing might be to consider taking a break for a while, it might do you some good :D

AVB is a decent manager who actually did well to nearly get us fourth with a team that was a shell of the side managed by Redknapp.
When he got sacked we were also going through a severe injury crisis. And the signings let him down, whoever they were made by.

Yeah, but if we're playing hypotheticals of e.g. Redknapp having Kane, then what happens if we swap Modric for Wanyama or Sissoko or Winks? Maybe we win the league or Champions League?

Similarly, AVB had Bale the first season, so what happens if we give Poch Bale in return for Lamela or Lucas?

I know you've posted in this thread already but if you're really down I'd encourage this thread be used a bit more.

We (everybody associated with Spurs, the fans, the players, the board all equal share of blame) decided that we deserved a trophy because of how good we were during the Poch years and when we missed out on the Champions League, it pushed it into feelings of unfairness. We allowed fans of rival teams who would have looked for any stick to beat us with, the press and anybody else to get in our heads and we turned feelings of unfairness into a demand to win a trophy. One person was honest about the situation and said it was going to take years and instead of accepting a transitional year as we processed the pain of that final, we abandoned all of our values, principles and everything we built to try and meet that expectations.

The club made decisions for the wrong reasons, we as fans contributed to those decisions and between the Board, Staff, Fans and Players we ruined the club from the inside out and nobody seems to be willing to let their ego take the hit and admit that we allowed ourselves to take the bait and that we made mistakes. I think we all point fingers but on this forum, we can only represent the fan side of things. I think we need to have an honest word with ourselves and say, yeah we fucked up on that one, chasing the pot of gold because we felt we were owed it and we was sick of the jibes and wanted to shut people up. I think we all act like we didn't do that and we speak too confidently on what the club should do and we need to humble ourselves a bit in the conversation. I think if we doubt ourselves a bit more then we'd actually have more constructive conversations and also treat the club with a bit more respect instead of just claiming how clueless they are, whilst sweeping under the rug how foolish we've made ourselves look speaking in such absolutes in recent years.

Seen posted above but I haven't enjoyed going to games since we demolished the lane. Going to spurs, was going to the lane the new place though impressive will never have the atmosphere.

The old White Hart Lane was more fun than the new White Hart Lane

I don't think you can ever blame a structure can you? Does it come down to the people? Or maybe it's a simple numbers game, the more people means the bond get's weaker or something. I've heard comics say it's easier to perform to 10,000 people than 10 because it's less intimate as the numbers go up.

Those players were bought by the club. The point is we've always signed good players that get us in or around the top 4. The difference this time, was that we got a generational player for free out of the academy, to make the difference and take us to the next level. You take Kane out of Poch's team and replace him with Defoe or Berbatov, we still do very well, as they are good strikers, but not as well as if we have Kane. Martin Jol said that for Tottenham to challenge, we have to produce our own Rooney and he was right. Without Kane coming through when he did, Poch's team is on the same level as Jol's and Rednkapp's.
