how has GDS got on? Heard loads raving about him in the Gold Cup but not heard anything about his performances in the much higher standard Copa America?

The squad they had didn't help matters but he didn't do much.

Was Mexico's best player by far however he was getting no service and the team was SHOCKING, I have never seen a team step on the ball more times in one match then this team

The squad they had didn't help matters but he didn't do much.

He looked bright when on the ball but it's like wales even when giggs was in the team they were still shit(not saying he is shit)

wow amazing stoppage time couple of goals for venezuela to equalise. attacking keeper surrounded by players but still gets crucial flick-on. amazing and venezuela needed a point to reach next round.

Venezuela were actually already qualified but now with this amazing last second equaliser they could claim 1st or 2nd of the group against all odds.

Brazil v Ecuador coming up next

Impressed with Caicedo, currently playing for Levante, could be worth a look.

In the last few matches the quality and excitement has picked up alot. Yesterday there were 12 goals in 2 matches, particulary great was the Paraguay-Venezuela where there was lots of drama in the closing minutes. Now comes the quarter finals, and these are the match ups:

July 16:

Colombia v Peru
Argentina v Uruguay

July 17:
Brazil v Paraguay
Chile v Venezuela

Obviously the most anticipated match is the rivalry between Argentina and Uruguay, the two most succesful teams in the history of this competition

yeah quite a surprise there. Peru advance to the semi finals beating Colombia 2-0 in ET (both goals scored in this period). They will meet the winner of Uruguay-Argentina coming up next.

Falcao missed a penalty in the first half and Colombia had quite a few chances to win but it was a frustrating afternoon for them

I'll be surprised if no one gets sent off, the Uruguay player could have easily got a red early on.

I have only been watching the last 20 minutes but in that time Suarez has won umpteen free kicks and got his opponents 3 yellow cards and a sending off.
Every fan outside Liverpool will hate him next year

However the guy is easily Uruguay's best player and world class.
How did that clown Redknapp decide that he wasn't what we needed?
Thats as bad as Gerry Francis thinking that Zinedine Zidane wasn't the player for us.

Tevez

Muslera was MOTM for me. Great keeper.

Weren't we linked to him earlier in the window/Jan? Would love him here tbh.
