Having watched this I'm not impressed. Would rather have Grealish and stick him in the CM role. Ceballos is not any better than Dembele, particularly concerning pace, strength and finishing. If dribbling is all he's got, I don't want him in our team. We need a qualified playmaker. Onions.

Where do you study for this qualification in playmaking?

I like Ceballos but personally think we should be going after someone like Vidal or Modric.

We need someone who has been there and done it all before to sit in our midfield, that experience is what we were missing against Juve and United at Wembley.

I don’t know much about this guy, tbh, I’ve seen a YouTube reel, and he seems more like a proper no.10 - ie, more VdV, than Dele or Eriksen.

With the lack of actual CM’s we’re being linked to, and the amount of more attacking players, I really do think that Poch is struggling to work out what to do. I bet if there was that CM he wanted that was achievable, he’d prefer it, but as it is, he’s heavily considering Dele and Eriksen in the deeper roles. I hope he knows how to get that working, cos it didn’t really happen for Dele there during The World Cup - although he has the engine to play that role.

I'm convinced that Pochettino has already decided that, with the presence of Moura, Lamela, Son already at the club and the seemingly likely incoming of another WF (Zaha or someone else), our midfield 3 (basing this on pre-season) will mimic England's/ Manchester City of have a sitter and two 8/10 players as a pivot, and that we already have the players in place for that;

Dier / Wanyama
Eriksen / Winks Dele / Dembele
I think we're at a stage where now we'll sign either a CM number 10 (Ceballos for instance) or a wide forward (Zaha let's say) and whichever it is will affect whether we use Eriksen primarily from the left or in the midfield 3. I don't think we'll sign both, because with the players already here we genuinely don't need both unless Wanyama/ Winks / Lamela are far worse injured than we think or Dembele really won't be able to hack even a 'squad' role.

I haven't watched the video but I have seen more than enough of him at Betis with my own eyes, he's very much what we need, a player who can dictate from the middle and move the ball forward quickly. Very similar to Modric at the same age.

He could share minutes with Moussa (if he stays) and then be hes natural successor.
If Moussa goes, I wish we aimed higher though.

Not that I think this is likely but the boy is a real talent. I watched him play for the Spanish U21s in the 2017 Europeans and he was excellent. I think I may even have posted about him somewhere . He may have even won the Golden Ball or something (memory a bit hazy on this) but I remember being gutted when he went to Real Madrid (who I despise ).

Anyhoo, to cut a long story short and with the qualifier that i've only watched him for the Spanish U21s i'd absolutely love it if we signed Ceballos. He is streets ahead of Grealish whatever you may think after carefully researching one YouTube vid .

I'd like us to sign Grealish as think Poch could do wonders with him but Dani Ceballos is on another planet ability wise.
He's so gifted and Poch could turn him into a god like CM.
It's the first link we've had all summer that has really hyped me, hope it can happen.

I really can't see Ceballos happening. Madrid have just signed a very Spanish focused manager, especially the youth. They have 3 midfielders: Modric, Kovacic & Cabellos and 1 will probably go and at the moment it looks like that 1 will be Modric.

Marca have also recently stated he is in Lopetegui's plans.

Wouldn't surprise me in we are interested in all 3 and are trying to push them into a decision into which to let go.

I don't think we will keep Dembele if Ceballos comes. Different players yes but would both be competing for the same spot.

In this new formation it seems like we're going to play, we'd already have 3 players capable of playing no8 in Eriksen, Winks and Alli and that's not forgetting Onomah potentially too. Ceballos or Grealish in too and we're covered there.

The issue now is the number 6 position behind them and that's going to depend on Wanyama's injury and whether Toby leaves us or not. If Wanyama is struggling, we need somebody else there.

If we get a CM like Ceballos in I can see us moving Dembele along either this window or in January to a Chinese club. I'd be amazed if he's allowed to leave on a free

If we go for him, I hope you're right. You can't understand everything from watching a 10 minute you tube reel - although 10 minutes gives you more of an idea than you had before.

We have form for signing players who aren't quite up to the job - as well as signing players who are.

A year or two ago, all I was reading about him was that he couldn't get in the RM side. If they let him go, he's not up to their standards. I feel Andre Gomes is similarly overrated. Another decent team's unwanted player.

I was expecting to see someone with a similar skillset of a De Bruyne - someone who has paintbrushes for football boots, an artist. What I saw is someone with low end product who can't cross very well and has no pace or strength, but can dribble fairly well.

The danger is that some people would clap a chair if it was photographed on deadline day in a spurs shirt, and Spurs have form for signing players dressed up as more than their actual skills warrant.

Would love to be wrong (y).

I can’t say I have seen anything of this kid but I just think if he’s young, on a long term contract and that damn good why exactly are Real going to let him go?

This is exactly the kind of signing we should be making and to be fair it has Levy written all over it.

Young, very high ceiling, experience of top flight football, might be slightly out of favor at RM due to their immense quality at CM / - the player himself may want to leave for playing time.

This all feels very under the radar. Very savvy if Levy can pull it off.

I actually forgot Sissoko too. At this stage i'd be looking to sell both along with Toby if we can't keep him. Move Dier back to CB, bring in a physical but technical DM (ideally Kondogbia). I'd certainly look to give Skipp opportunities whilst Wanyama is injured with a view to replacing him long term should these injuries persist.

I'm hoping this is what the 2CMs ITK is referring to.

Toby, Dembele, Sissoko, Nkoudou, Janssen & Llorente should all be up for sale IMO and the club should make a CM (Ceballos I'd snap your hand off for), WF (Zaha or Martial), another understudy CM (ideally Grealish, possibly Cook) and a central defender (Pavard or De Ligt) to replace them.

I do think replacing Dembele is a bigger urgency than replacing Alderweireld, I make Toby's replacement 4th on our list of priorities should we make any moves at all over the next week or so.

I still can't get my head around no deals being struck for any of our out players. They play for a top 3 team in the Prem surely there's clubs out there they'd be huge for this season

You do realise him and De Bruyne play in different positions yeah? Ceballos isn't an Eriksen or a player you'd be grading on how many assists he got, he's a CM.
Not sure if you googled wrong video, he's got the right amount of pace for a CM to carry the ball past players and fantastic technical ability, comparing him to one of the best players in the world at 21 is a bit harsh.
