Sorry mate might be at crossed purposes I meant the people involved in the protests many are terrace legends back in the day they won't back down from anything.
As for the team I just don't know anymore I really struggle to feel anything for the club hopefully it will be good but I suspect it won't.
The level of cash needed to invest isn't there so I expect more wanky Doherty and aurier type signings.
I trust you are looking forward to it by the sound of your optimism which I say good for you.
Do you think it's the amount of money or the choices that have been made? I'm swaying towards the latter. That's still on ENIC obviously.

Possibly the latter but both are linked though, we go for what we think is reasonable but often they don't work.

Yeah, I mean obviously it's not realistic to expect every signing to come off but even in the case of some significant outlays, they haven't always worked out either.

I don't blame people protesting at all. The only reason I feel reticent about it is that I don't see ENIC being driven out because that would mean accepting sub market value for the club which isn't going to happen. The other option obviously is significant investment in the club by another party. Then you have the question of who is in charge and I can't see DL giving up overall control. That said, along the lines of what @soflapaul and others have said, ENIC must surely realise that disaffected fans don't make good business sense in the long term.

I agree with you the fans have every right to protest because let's face it this has been coming for a while.
I don't agree with levy being issued death threats that is not on but I think he needs to go now the trust has been lost.
It certainly will be an interesting summer I won't hold my breath but let's see what happens.

The fans bought the ticket or pay for the advertising so they do have the right to protest. But I wonder if the kind of protest we are seeing is counter productive long term. (I'm not sure what a productive protest would look like so it may be. Maybe signs like "Daniel, we are boycotting your cheeseroom until you sign a CB!")

When i think of Rafael VDV words on how much he loved the club, i interpreted it as being "When i went to Spurs, i realized their fans were different" and his affection for the club was in part because the fans were so much behind the club good or bad. I wasn't there in the 90s nor did we have access to all things Tottenham so my dataset is limited and probably have a rose colored view of the club and the fan's support. But to your point, Levy has to fade into the background if the trust has been lost permanently. Maybe there is no way back for him. but i do think he has been a good steward of the club who made some major improvements to the club while having some major miscues too.

Unfortunately Enic aren't going anywhere for a very long time. There is nobody out there at the moment that is prepared to spend the money they want for the club to make a profit on their investment. So we have to hope that they and Levy do listen and do turn it around. I personally have big doubts they will and once all the anger has died down it will be business as usual. The only time they will sit up and listen is when the fans stop going to matches and we all know that isn't going to happen. A few hundred or a thousand maybe but when the new season starts regardless of who's in or who's out the fans will be back ready to moan and complain about this player or Levy or Enic. It's sport it's football it's what we love and what we do. Just think how boring it must be to be a City supporter and at the start of each season thinking "what and how much are we going to win this year" So cheer up guys, see you same time, same place, next year.

I think ENIC came along at the right time in the same way that sugar was perhaps the right person at the time when he took over.
But in both cases they had and or have done their time and so it is time for him to move on.
The stumbling block will be how much money ENIC will want which is likely to leave us stuck with them.

That’s it... it’s settled then, bring Klinsmann in as manager, Aguero + cash for Kane and a hefty war chest to strengthen where needed while offing the dead wood - any takers?

Boring to be a city supporter what are you a closet utd fan.
How can being successful like they are be boring, what is soul destroying is seeing your club fail constantly in finals and shit the bed.

All well and good as long as you're OK with knowing that oil money has tilted the playing field so far in your favour, that anything other than bagging trophies every year would be an abject failure. If we went down that route I'd walk away because it turns the sporting arena into a cheque writing contest. I just live in the unlikely hope that one day we'll do a David and Goliath act - but I'm not holding my breath.

That is fair enough if that's your view

Well yeah and I've said he needs to back it up. Again though I've never heard him take responsibility like this before. Sure he's come up with excuses in his end of season synopsis. This time though he's admitting it's himself that's fucked up.

Yup I was very surprised to read this earlier today. It sounded like an admission which I can't ever remember him giving before

''Lost sight of the clubs DNA''?
All he had to do was go to the website, click on 'the club' and read the following.

The Game Is About Glory.

The words of our 1961 Double-winning captain Danny Blanchflower reverberate around Tottenham Hotspur and everything we do, to this day and into the future.

We are about playing with flair, style and passion. Players, coaches, staff and fans – we move forward, together as one.

We’re so proud of our rich history. From humble beginnings in North London, we became the first and, to date, only non-league side to win the FA Cup in 1901 – the first of eight triumphs in the age-old, world-renowned competition thus far.
In 1951, we won the English First Division league title for the first time, just 12 months after coming up from the Second Division as champions. And 10 years later, we reached even greater heights, becoming the first team in the modern era to complete the league and FA Cup double.

Bill Nicholson was our manager then, but he was so much more than just a manager. He was Mr Tottenham. A former player of ours, he lived and breathed Tottenham Hotspur, guiding us to huge success in his 16 years at the helm. Under his stewardship, we became the first British team to win a major European trophy with European Cup Winners’ Cup glory in 1963, collected further FA Cups in 1962 and 1967, won the League Cup in 1971 and 1973 and tasted European success once more by lifting the 1972 UEFA Cup.

Further FA Cup, UEFA Cup and League Cup trophies followed throughout the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, leading us to up to the present day where we strive to innovate and amaze in pursuit of more silverware.

We’re hungry, we’re progressive, we’ve built a brand new world-class Training Centre and moved into an outstanding, modern new stadium, overlapping the site of White Hart Lane, where we played our home games for 118 years.

It seems to me that Levy is miles away from that wonderful statement about our club, the only thing he is hungry for is cheese & money, he has no clue what it takes to build on success & maintain momentum, we just keep falling backwards every time we are ready to take the next step forward.
He has made so many mistakes but its always the managers fault, who sacks their manager a week before a cup final? I'll tell you who, a chairman/owner who knows if we win it it will cost him more when he does eventually sack him six weeks later.
Who charges fans the highest amount compared to everyone else who have not been able to see their team for two seasons then sticks them in the rafters so that the advertising that's on the lower seats can be front and centre for the tv cameras. 3 guesses?

the list goes on and on.
