DONCASTER- born Daniel Rose has been snapped up by Spurs from Leeds United in a £1 million deal.

Nephew of former Doncaster Rovers star Mark Rankine, the 16-year-old was spotted by Leeds as a ten-year-old playing for Barnby Dun Juniors and joined their Centre of Excellence.

He forced his way into the Leeds squad last season and was regarded as a star of the future by the West Yorkshire side.

Spurs were one of a number of top clubs, including Liver-pool, Everton and Arsenal, to show an interest the left-footed England U-17 international.

“You could see that he had a special talent as young as six,” said Mark’s brother, Des.
