There's no doubt Lennon was more advanced but then they were playing different football then, still had some flair players etc... now they're under Wise & he wants tough, experienced players.

There's little doubt that Rose has bags of talent but maybe he didn't fit into Wise's rough/tough style of play.

I don't think he's close to our first team, yet, but could certainly be within a years time. Taarabt apparently wasn't tipped to be involved at all until at least the coming season, but he's already well in Jol's mind/plans.

What I'm trying to say is, really talented english players with pace and good delivery are at a premium, and left sided ones are downright gold dust (as our national team shows) so someone as promising as Rose, with a left peg at £1m really wants to be snapped up and put through his paces.

Which seems the most sensible summary of the situation, except that I doubt it's so much a matter of Rose's not fitting into Wise's playing style, more that he's bright enough to see Leeds are going to hell in a handcart and thought, 'Fuck this, I'm off out of here.'
