Worrying to think that someone could have seen his performances this season and think they warrant a new contract. Even more worrying to think that the person making such a judgement is making other important decisions for us. (If the story is true).

Rose a new contract? Him and Lennon were in a dogfight for the most useless player last year and we're gonna give him a new contract? What in the entire fuck are you doing, Daniel? Are you on crack?

Nothing to be alarmed about. Levy always loves to tie his English players to good contracts so he can get good money for them.

Sorry, you have me at a disadvantage, what's he done?

He is just the latest popular hate figure.

The contract makes sense. If he doesnt want to stay as back up, fine we sell him and make £6-8m. If he does want to stay, ok let's coach him and see if he can improve. If he doesn't improve then use the above "sell" scenario.

I'm 100% sure we will sign a LB in this window as no-one is that stupid so this is just smart business.

West Ham have been linked with Lennon, Rose and striker killer Les Ferdinand - let them go!

By not giving him a contract we run the risk of him leaving on a Bosman come the end of his contract. Worst ways, we loan him out for a fee, plenty of takers.
Win - win for the club.

IF this is true I'm flabbergasted, he's payed reserve wages because he's shit and not worthy of a first team wage.

If anything the club should be terminating his contract for being a shit footballer with a massive arse

Sunderland's best outfield player when he was there, of course there is a value to Rose and it makes sense to have him under a secure contract. Other clubs would be willing to pay for him, Hodgson even mentioned him as one of many left back options for the national team. Sell him cheap this summer or lose him for nothing next summer, put up against gettng him on a new contract fighting for his place and most likely sell him for decent money in the future. What to do ...
We need to sign a top class left back, difficult enough if we're not going to look for a back up for him as well.

Danny Rose has said he doesn't want to be back up, but you don't tell a player that he is. You have at least two players fighting for a position, loser can be sold when the season is done - with player under contract and club in control.

Jesus, some of you people.
I'd be first to say that Rose shouldn't be our first-choice left-back, he's limited and not a good enough defender for me; but what's the kid done to warrant this level of over-the-top hatred. He was a fair way from having the worst attitude or turning in the worst performances in our squad last season, and is young and playing in a position he not long ago switched to. However, some of you would gladly see him tied up and flogged on the High Road. I suspect you were the same types who thought Carrick offered us nothing, Modric only passed it sideways and Bale was 'jinxed' and should have been let go when Forest were interested...

23 is hardly young for a footballer

Because he's a lazy bastard. He never busts a gut to get back defending. If he loses the ball in an advanced position you can bet your ass that he will just casually and lazily jog after the ball. His whole attitude stinks, so you're very wrong on that point IMHO.

No one on here would give him this amount of stick if only he actually tried and gave a shit.

And no, I did not think that about those players you mentioned, nor does it have anything to do with Danny Rose. But good luck with that weird argumentation.
