Spurs followers really love to 'hate' Spurs players. I'm not saying he's perfect but, just listen to yourselves. Christ some of you are a disgrace.

I think there's a difference with this one - I really don't like the hatred, vitriol and name-calling I see on here from so many people. Even the likes of BC can't help himself call Defoe a 'dumb ****' or Walker a 'brainless prick' or similar at times, and I really don't see the point in it.

With Rose, though, it's fully deserved. The guy is so lazy, so arrogant, and so crap that I think he deserves the comments. I haven't hated a Spurs player in years, in fact I can't even remember any I've really disliked that much before on a personal level, but Rose is a ****. He damages the team so much with his attitude and arrogance he is actively doing harm to the team when he plays.

I still wouldn't abuse him if I was in the stands, as that's not how I behave, especially in public, but on here - he deserves everything he gets.

I wont blink an eyelid if they ship him out - he's always been a 2nd rate left midfielder, most definately not a left back.

We got completely destroyed down the left for most of the season, and although i though he didnt always have enough players covering him (especially our left mid's), he has to shoulder most of the blame. Almost every team we played realised this weekness in our setup from kickoff and exploited it relentlessly.

Have I missed something that he's done off the pitch that makes everyone hate him on a personal level? He's hardly a John Terry or Luis Suarez type character

I always though people just didn't rate him as a footballer, I don't mind if he stays as backup but we might be able to fleece Sunderland for a decent wedge if they still want him. All depends who we can bring in I guess.

£100m spent on players and we couldn't afford a few million for a left back from anywhere. Tells you everything you need to know about the current hierarchy.

I think this summed up Danny Rose for me. My 10 year old son asked me during a game at White Hart Lane, "Dad, how can Danny Rose call himself a professional footballer?"

It's his attitude that does it for me.

OK fair enough, you're a terrible full back. But at least fucking look like you're trying to do something about it.

I can see some of the replies about Rose may urk some people but FFS did you see him last season. He was paid to do a job and he did a sh1t job. I hope he's off to pastures new over the summer and we get someone next season to not act as if he's god's gift when he's nothing special.

You know he was really quite defensively sound under AVB. When he was out of the team with a long term injury many here bemoaned it.
Once Sherwood came he looked like a total shambles but then so did Dawson, vertonghen, nsughton and kaboul.

I think he could be a decent backup for the long Europa and league cup campaign under a manager who has a clear defensive strategy and instruction rather than just "defend when they have it"

And now the WC is out of the picture maybe his bollox will reduce in size and he'll humble and realise he is at a great club and try to work hard on his game and not expect to be number 1 because he is the greatest.
Defoe like attitude who is strangely shocked about not making the WC squad

From a football standpoint like or dislike DR thats fine. I personally just detest the name calling and vitriolic language used by some.
I really do expect more from Spurs supporters, naive maybe but there it is.

So you have never used vitriolic language against fellow SC users?

I try not to. I disagree and get grumpy with many, but can't honestly remember using aggressive language some have here and I'm in the wrong if I have.

His One on one defending isn't actually that bad. Its no worse than either of the Kyle's, nor Vertonghen when he gets stationed there. I think there is some exaggeration going on here. I do think Rose is getting an unfair amount of stick compared to the other fullbacks in our squad, who really offer as little as he does currently.

He has one eye catching bad habit in particular, which is that when he gets caught ahead of the ball he doesn't feel he needs to rush back and help out. He isn't the only one guilty of this, and whilst individuals desire to give 100% for the team should be questioned and criticised, I blame the Manager when things like this happen. The first time it happened he should have been given a bollocking and it made clear to all our players that dawdling back isn't acceptable... If it keeps happening then a player gets dropped. We have had managers who don't set standards though, so lazy stuff like this happens.

With the ball his poor crosses also suffer from being more eye catching because he drills them and so they look worse, but are no more ineffective than Walker's 'dither on the ball before eventually hitting it against the first man' or Naughton steadfastly refusing to move forward on the overlap with any purpose and often killing any momentum we build up down that side.

Technically can also be poor and give the ball away badly at times... But which of our players aren't guilty of that?

I think we need far more from our fullbacks as its arguably becoming the most important position on the pitch in modern football, and its a position I would spend a large amount of the transfer budget on. Having said that it would be nice to get in a proper coach for once who at least attempts and gets a little improvement out of the players we already have rather than us going seasons with players demonstrating the same faults constantly.

I have, and so have you, its wrong but at least you show passion, some on here have barely got a pulse, and some really wind me up with their pc shit and seemingly love for the scum.

All that voted anything other than get shut need a mental health exam.

Same goes for all our defenders bar maybe Kaboul and Jan.

Complete shambles.

At the end of the day, he isn't the worst full-back in the league, and he's homegrown. That alone almost qualifies him as back-up left-back.

But everything he's come out and said simply means he wouldn't stand being second choice - so sell him on. There aren't many young English attacking left-backs around so he could go for a bit. Bring back BAE who (based on everything he's come out and said too) would get on with training as a clear second choice. Use some money to buy a proper left-back.

Rose gets to play first-choice at his level, BAE gets paid to do his job, we get a proper left-back and the team plays well. Everybody's happy. :D

Does he want the managers job because he's seen what our last 2 managers obviously couldn't!
Played with and against better left backs than rose and I never got close to being pro! Awful, awful player.

If that report is to be believed then who in God's name is offering him a new contract? It sure as hell isn't the manager that's for sure. Worrying.
