So The Sun - who printed the original interview - are now saying that he received a "heroes welcome". Even the partially sighted must be able to see through this.

Can you see Harry and co striding forward to slap him on the back and tell him what a jolly good chap he is?

He gets paid plenty, with bonuses too. If he wants out or more pay there is a mature and professional way of doing it. He's hardly the Jimmy Hill of the club, is he? And those who want a pay rise - Toby - aren't going to change their approach to because Rose has run his mouth.

The image of a working class labour revolution battering down Levy's gold plated door just doesn't ring true.

Although it seems the press are trying to do a hatchet job on us at the moment, it may serve as the perfect motivational tool for our players to give them the two fucking fingers and have another great season.

If he still hasn't recovered then he won't be sold during this window. Even if he has recovered, we shouldn't sell him now as it would be a bad precedent.

Keep him behind Davies, KWP and any replacement LB (if we do get one during this window). If he gets twitchy about losing his WC place in the England squad, then let him request for a transfer and lose out on any related bonus.

The club shouldn't allow any player to dictate terms of their contract or transfer.

I doubt the journalists would just make things up out of thin air - I would expect he did receive a heroes welcome. The press are usuaally right on this stuff. This is in the Times:

"It surely is — and yet, beneath it all, beneath every bit of praise, has been the nagging feeling that progress on the pitch will be hard to sustain unless Tottenham adjust to the realities of the market that has little respect for prudence. Danny Rose may be just one player going public on his frustration at the club’s wage structure — and from a seriously weak position, given that he signed a new £65,000-a-week deal last September and has not played since January — but, make no mistake, his frustrations are shared by others in that dressing room."

I'd hope that the players didn't need any further motivation on the eve of the new season. But there's no doubt that this only goes away while we're winning. So much for 'you're only as good as your last result'.

I believe you are both right and wrong. Firstly, yes the press is able to produce shit of thin air, so that's that. I think his "welcome" is blown out of proportion. Probably, a few players, and it's easy to guess whom, kind of supported him and accepted him for it. That has been reported to the media. I would be surprised if there also weren't players who think he acted like a real knob.

Yep. There is a reason that this doesn't happen more often - because agents aren't going to advise their clients to do it. Because it's a terrible idea.

Cannot wait for Poch's presser today, should be intriguing. Hopefully singles out that twat from the Sun and hangs him out to dry, although hes too classy for that kind of behaviour.

It's probably true but exaggerated. I imagine there's a group of the squad who've been talking about this and agree with him. Think about it when you have a gripe at work, you find colleagues who agree and you moan about how horrid your employer is with them. It's probably the same here. Who else is a member of that group? Probably, who ever else is trying to get a significant pay increase or being offered more money elsewhere: Toby Alderwiereld, Eric Dier. They might think this just helps our case a little bit but we don't have to take any flak. The Sun might fudge that group to be the 'squad'.

Yes, the poor millionaires in their supercars with their supermodel wives.

Must be a tough life when you only bring in £3-4 million pa.

It's not about that though. Why should Danny Rose accept half of what Shaw or Clyne or Walker are getting?

Not really the sun's fault though, Danny requested that magazine!
