Being loaned back to us on a season long loan.

I ain't particular pleased about this either, but it'll be announced within the next 24 hours.

Thought he was given a number by you lot and was gonna be and around yer first team this season?

Interesting. Nothing about it from any of our ITKs, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

I guess you could use him in next season's big Yorkshire derby against Huddersfield, though. Now that Doncaster have been promoted. (Sorry, couldn't resist that )

Spent three years as a student in Leeds in the early 70s. Loved the city (and almost stayed on there) but absolutely loathed Revie's ideas of football.

Good plan. With Bale, Gilberto, probably BAE and possibly Modric ahead of him as left-sided candidates, the kid's not going to see any first-team action with us next season. Buy 'em cheap and loan 'em back for a year or two, that's what I say.

You don't want Howson, seriously, he's over rated.

Just signed a new 3 year contract too

Would prefer him loaned to a London club so he can train with us once a week. QPR, Millwall or Charlton. If he's going to be good enough for us he should be good enough for a Championship team.

We buy all this raw talent with bags of potential and then that's the last we hear of them until they are off loaded.

We have Taarabt, Rose, Devite, Berchiche, Pekart and now Bostock. Will we see any of these in the first team squad this year... I doubt it. The foreign lads seem to get frustrated with the lack of opportunities. Mix this with homesickness, this does not bode well.

I thought Danny Rose was being groomed as a CM in the reserves? If that's the case, then it makes sense that he's being loaned out as we aren't going to stick him in at CM in the premiership, especially now we have Luka. Also, like Lennon, he might be homesick? It would be good for him on a personal and professional level to spend 6 months / a season a Leeds.

It's alright having all this young talent, but in recent years name me all the players who have come through our youth development to then cement a regular place in the first team.

I can name just two, King and Carr during the last 10 years. This not a great testimonial.

But there is little point pointing to the old regimes whence Carr, Walker, Campbell and King came. Since 2004 there has been a whole new regime in place which was disrupted, partly, by Arnesen's departure and the slightly different policies of Comolli.

We are building for the future and if the club has taken the decision to send Rose back to Leeds (where he will get first team football and be near his home) then we should take it as a good decision based on the excellent reviews this lad has got and that the club has seen him and knows him better than any of us.

Look at what teams like Arsenal, Real Madrid and to a lesser extent Chelsea do. They have a twin structure in place- to improve the first team immediately and to bring through young talent, in many cases by sending them to other clubs for first team football (Bendtner, Vela, De La Red, Sinclair). How else do we ensure their improvement. We are behind these clubs but are already following the same path (O'Hara, Huddlestone, Dawkins and Mills). The first two came back visibly improved and I have every faith the last two will also.

Saying that our youth system has not produced any good players over the last few years is myopic and impatient at best. It is also assumes we have always had a homogenous policy and structure. We have not. The new system is working and it is working well, exemplified by the recent successes of our academy which included Danny Rose, who is by the way only 17.

Can't believe people are complaining about this! A 17 year old getting a full season of experience for a side that will in all likelihood be top of the league rather than playing in the reserves, sounds good to me.

Its best he goes where he is settled (home!), to develop that to another random place.

Lets hope he develops well.
