If he were cheap I wouldn't necessarily mind him as a third choice and occasional left sided auxiliary striker option, but we already have Harry Kane for that and he's better.

Anyway, nonsense story clearly. Makes little sense.

He might want to move to a top six club though ;)

He'll divide opinion all right.

But I must admit I like him. Ok he's not the most accomplished finisher, although on occasion he scores some absolute gems - flick for England, chip against Swansea etc...but by Christ he works hard, IMO anyway. Will run the channels all day long and there is some quality to his game.

Might just flourish if played regularly and is also pretty versatile - can play from the left side drifting in etc.

20 million is a tad steep though.

Agree with this take about exactly. Decent player that works hard to find the right channel, but given that we already have Kane and Chadli for youth especially there is just no reason to spend anywhere close to 20 million. Hell, I'm not sure I'd even pay 10. Give me 5 mil and an arranged handy from Chelsea's physio and I'm at the table... for my handy. I'd still try to talk them down to 4 while she's busy.

Especially when considering van Persie cost £24,000,000. There is definitely more than a £4,000,000 gap in quality between them even if we're adjusting for inflation.
If we signed him, he'd end up as another mediocre English player we're stuck with. Save the money and go for any English player from Southampton instead

Lallana is the guy I want, no doubt in my mind.

Regarding the fee though, he's certainly not worth 20 million - but comparing it to RVP isn't exactly a great example even though I understand why you're doing it. You have age to factor in and the length of contract etc.

Van Persie had a year left on his contract and the resell value at the end of the contract would be minimal so hence lower fee.

Spurs are eyeing up a move for United striker Danny Welbeck, 23, as Daniel Levy looks for a top-class striker.

We're obviously not looking for a top-class striker, then.

Welbeck's a decent player, but he's far too inconsistent and doesn't score enough to be a striker. I'd rather have Harry Kane.

Agree. Lallana is class. Two footed. 9 goals, 6 assists for a mid table side. Doesn't give the ball away. Quick thinking and great tekkers.

If he played for a top 4 side, the media would be jizzing all over him.

Top class striker and Danny welbeck do not go in the same sentence.
I don't want the not so famous half of Kid & Play anywhere near our club, give me soldado or Kane any day of the week.

He's terrible and he's about £14m overpriced!

We should be going for Bony imo + one other from Benteke, Lukaku or Batshuyi.

I wanted us to sign bony before he went to Swansea.

He scored about 22 goals so far this year in a struggling Swansea side.

He's acclimatised to the EPL and be a great replacement for Ade and would be a long term signing.
