I like Bony, he's extremely strong/powerful, can hold the ball up, a very powerful shot from both in and outside the box and he can head the ball too.

My only concerns are that at times he's looked very selfish (shoot instead of looking for a pass) and considering Swansea paid circa £14m for him, he'll set us back £20-22m?[/quote]

Rather buy Lukaku.

Is this the same Everton who could qualify for CL? Agreed about the overrated part though

Danny Welbeck has strong, local ties with #MUFC. But it is true. As it stands, he does want to leave. Frustrated by lack of games

Sort of EPL acclimatised player that Tim would want - not that this should have any bearing hopefully.

Offers versatility and English.

Price of anything below £15m, then think we should certainly consider depending on who else we get in.

Tim Sherwood won't have anything to do with who we buy in the summer.

Rather buy Lukaku.

Me too but 1) will there be a bidding war? 2) will he want to come to us with the likes of A Madrid after him?

Whereas Bony should be easier to snap up.

I don't know much about him other than he's netted 16 goals in 32 games, but there's a 22 year old Cameroonian striker called Vincent Aboubakar playing for French minnows Lorient in Ligue 1 ... if he's up to it, surely we'd be better off spending south of 15m on him than £25m plus on Lukaku?

Edit - he's been linked with Chelsea as an alternative to Diego Costa.

I was quite negative on Bony initially, but he's found his groove and has become an excellent Prem striker. Very realistic option, especially if we're forced to sell Ade because of his wages.

There are reports that Swansea would look for £24m for Bony. There are better targets out there for that price.

He's realistic as in there's no reason he shouldn't be happy to sign for us. The issue would be the fee considering Swansea paid £14m for him.

Holy ballz to hell with that. You're absolutely right there are better options out there for such a price.

Think Welbeck would be a great fit. Young, English, quick, used to the Prem, can play centrally or from wide in a 4-3-3. Anything up to £16/17m in today's climate would be reasonable in my opinion

Welbeck's mediocre. Luckily - as long as Sherwood's not here (and he won't be) - Welbeck is not likely to be seriously considered.

A lot of people said Sturbridge was medicore as well before he went to Pool, I don't think many saying that now, I think Welbeck could be great if he is played correctly and fed the ball where he wants it.

If they thought Sturridge was mediocre even while he was at Chelsea, then then their talent evaluation inputs are no longer relevant. On your point however, it's likely true that many of the same people are decrying such a rumored interest. But for that price there's just no way.
