Exactly this.

He'd only be an emergency cover option up top I would of thought. Primarily used in the left sided spot in the three.

Plus, I think Ade's working really well with the 3 behind him. Looks like they're building up confidence together, and Soldado seems to be designated as the Europa striker.

Not sure what a move for Welbeck would mean for Kane though...

Nothing.

I'd be more worried if I was Holtby. I could see Kane getting plenty of game time - rotating and covering Eriksen ahead of Holtby.

Think Poch prefers him.

Pochettino really seems to like him. We've seen him utilized different ways and I really don't think Welbeck would have too much of an effect on him. He appears to be 2nd choice to Adebayor at this time and we've seen him utilized in a formation with Soldado already.

I've discounted Holtby anyhow and not sure we'd particulalrly miss him despite a strong following.

I still wouldn't rule out a Premier League loan for Kane though and us acquiring a Welbeck or a Rabiot.

I'd be surprised if we loan Kane - he's shown more than enough to be involved and Poch rates him I think.

It would be to give him pretty much guaranteed first team football at say a Crystal Palace.

Kane has surprised me I must say but I'd love to see him play week in week out somewhere and really put his name out there but I'll caveat that by saying he'll learn an awful lot under Poch here and play his part off the bench or in the Cups.

League, Europa and the 2 cups and I can see him getting a good 30 games for us this season. Wouldn't want him to go out on loan.

Might have had a poor game today (along with the whole team) but the signs are there that he has been brought up playing the game the right way. Always got his head up and aware where team-mates are to move the ball on.

Genuinely think he'd thrive in Poch's system

Did you see the ball he flicked around the corner that nearly came off? Would led to a certain goal...very clever and aware piece of play.

Yeah I did. He's certainly got that in him. Remember a nice back heel assist towards the end of last season.

Built for the kind of neat inter-play Poch is looking for.

I don't necessarily disagree but I'm looking at possible scenarios that might arise should we bring in Welbeck.

Obvious departure seemingly is Townsend but the possibility of Soldado leaving as well definitely gets the old noggin working as to who might arrive and where opportunities will lie for other forwards here.

I actually think Townsend & Lennon would be more worried. Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli, Holtby, Kane and Welbeck would be 6 great options for the 3 behind the striker, all offer something different and, IMO all fit in with Poch's system. We also have Cebellos who can fill in when injuries/fitness get bad.

I think Townsend is already worried regardless. At least Lennon showed some semblance of understanding pre season in terms of what was required...first half against Toronto etc.

I agree that Holtby should be used there, without doubt if we keep him.

Welbeck was poor tonight again - mind you the whole team were. I can't believe we would let Bobby go to bring him in.

I thought it was significant that he actually started for United tonight. Doesn't look to me as if he's going anywhere, to be honest.

I'd be gutted to see him go, to be honest. He loves playing for us and has never made a secret of that. I also think he's far too good a young player to be cast off like that. If we really have to lose another player, I'd much rather see Paulinho gotten rid of. We'd probably get more for him anyway.

Welbeck is the most un- Arsenal like player ever. But It goes to show those writing him off - he must be pretty decent if the scum and ourselves are after him.

I would take Welbeck, good option to have and I think he is great at working for the team in general.

Would be a good option to have up top with Ade and Lamela. Lamela looks like he can do a job for the team too, would give us a very hard working frontline who can all track back. Plus due to him being young and English, his price would more than likely stay around what we could get him for I reckon.
