Spurs have also renewed their long-standing interest in Roma’s attacking midfielder Nicolò Zaniolo, and are weighing up a move for the Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.

Tottenham asked Brentford about Raya’s situation this month and were told that the 27-year-old Spaniard is not for sale. But Raya will have only a year left on his deal at the end of the season and Spurs are considering testing Brentford’s resolve as they look to secure a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris, who is 36. Ajax are among a number of top European clubs keeping tabs on Raya but Tottenham have shown the strongest interest.
I wonder how much it would take to get them to sell now. Probably more then we would pay considering his contract. I can imagine for Brentford it might be worth holding on to him even if his contract means he will go for less in the summer.

There are a number of good GKs out there that are young that I'm surprised we haven't been linked to. Even if there was a way to move on Forster and get some young competition in, I think it would be a smart move over the next 6 months.

Dominik Livaković had a great WC, has been in a decent side for years - there is also Vanja Milinković-Savić (yes, his brother) who looks like he's 40, but is only 25 and is really coming into his own at Torino. He's also one of the tallest GKs in the world.

The problem as some have mentioned is that there are GK options available in Summer like Raya and Pickford that are both accustomed to PL life and HG, which is always nice to have as a GK.

Alban Lafont the Nantes goalkeeper looks very good and was linked a few days back

I'd go as far as £30m to get him in Jan. I love Lloris but he is very much spearheading our relegation form.

If there's any chance we can get Raya this window we should do it even if it means overpaying. He's homegrown, decent with his short kicking and really good with his long kicking. He'd be a quality player under Conte but would also be a really good modern keeper if we do end up going for a more progressive coach in the summer.

Need to pay over the odds to get a player in jan to fix an immediate hole. But we won’t see it like that

Always be prepared to overpay on your no1 targets, especially if they have a good age and others want them.

They signed a pretty good keeper from Italy last summer with the expectation Raya would be off in this summer.

Are Brentford in a position to turn down £10/15 million for him now if we were to offer it?

So he should.

Arsenal have just paid 21m for a player with 6 months.

Brentford will want more considering Raya is an important player.
Apparently Trossard has a 1 year option, hence Brighton could demand so much. It was essentially 18 months left.
