Ok but honestly what's the big deal here? Is Raya better than Ramsdale? That is debatable, if he is it really is not by much. Ok so they 'maybe' have improved their GK position but only by a slim margin. Remind me why this is a big deal?

I don't know if its a "big" deal - but I think a lot of folks still wanted Raya here.

That ship obviously sailed when we went with Vicario, who was backed by some in the transfer committee as 1st choice. So, we made a decision, and we move forward, and should not be worried about where Raya went, after we passed.

He’s much better than Ramsdale with the ball at his feet, which is exactly why they’ve done this. I bet he will be starting for them before long.

That's the issue, yeah.

It's too early to tell, but if I had to make a bet, right now, I'd bet that Raya will turn out to be a better signing than Vicario.

Is it though? I see it as a very strange bit of business from them that has the potential to unsettle their number 1. Ok so they will have a very good reserve keeper - big deal? It's hardly something to get worried about!

Yeah it's brilliant business by them 2 very strong keepers 1 will fall by the wayside eventually.

All gone quiet on our end on incomings and the focus is likely to clear out the squad of those not needed.

Will see how Vicario does as its such early days right now but I think its fair to say that for £10-15million more we'd have got far more of a sure thing signing Raya but if they were as reports say were holding out for too much and messed us around and so we moved on swiftly to our next target then fair play as we've moaned in the past that we don't do that enough and I don't think Brentford planned to end up loaning him to Arsenal when playing hardball with us!

It is what it is, we should really get rid of this thread as we won't be signing him and lets stop wasting time discussing ****nal transfer targets.

Balls up as usual. Surely his agent told us who we’re interested in a big way? We could have held out another 2/3 weeks to see what was happening. Home grown also. Massive position is keeper! Vics long kicks look Hugo esque. But early days. I think a real quality keeper does things like kicking with no pressure to a player near the half way line 90% of the time new to the league or not. He just looks erratic to me from first viewing. And also on his YouTube of his career so far.
Any more scouting advice or opinions of other keepers please dm me. . I’m normally pretty decent and I own some goal keeper gloves I store in my porch.
