Seems like the same rumours going round and round, starting somewhere and being picked up by others. Truth is, we don't know any more than 2-3 days ago except that he trained with the team and was named in the squad for the EL game - as you'd expect of a contracted player.

Today's internet driven media will regurgitate and rejig articles over and over based on one throwaway comment. It's all about the click for a lot of these sites, there's no better way to get clicks than by adding massive clubs like Real to transfer stories about Spanish speaking players.
I'm not saying it's definitely untrue, but that this should by know means be taken as gospel.

I'm glad none of you have negotiated to buy a car for me. If that was the case I'd expect to pay 45k on a 35k sticker price. Of course Madrid are linked. Players always get linked elsewhere during negotiation by selling clubs to up their sale price. Quit panicking. The Madrid link is probably bullshit. If not we'll move on to a different target and Sanchez probably didn't want to come here to begin with.
If we just 'chill out' till the end of the window we'll have frost bites all over us!!! Not healthy.

A CB is what we need the most this window. It's the most important. We are not signing anybody who will improve our preferred line up. All signings will be for depth and added alternatives. In light of that, where we have the biggest need for such added depth is CB IMO.

My main reserve and why I am still being cautious about this story is Dutch reporter Mike Verweij, who we've probably quoted a dozen times here, has been the quickest gun in the west to name drop Chelsea and Real Madrid interest in each article. So far nothing from him. That may well be an article on the way but he seems well into Ajax and their POV. Doubt he would sit on the chance to attract the media frenzy and hits that would come with a concrete Real Madrid offer.

Strange article that one. It's got a click bait headline suggesting that this is a Tottenham issue and then confirms that its an issue for every premier league team. It also then goes on to say that clubs in European competition get paid in Euros so not such an issue for them. It also fails to mention that Joe Lewis made his money through currency trading so we're probably well prepared for exchange rate changes.

The lack of ambition to improve further and actually try and win things is something I refuse to accept and get used to.
I'll always support the club and I strongly support this manager but the chairman....

We have a wage structure and a way of doing business there is no reason this should be a shock to u. Did u really think Levy would abandon all that in order to sign a CB (a position one could argue is the least of our needs) to sign a guy hardly any of us knew of two weeks ago? that's just dumb
